What worries me is where our next 3 points are coming from. Forget Leicester, can’t see us getting anything from Sunderland with our home format the moment. Leeds?!? I think our best bet is Middlesborough Away.

Spirited performance but the bottom line is we lost again and didn’t look like scoring again. It’s crap and doesn’t look like changing anytime soon to me.

I have fuck all sympathy re defenders. You reap what you sow. We left ourselves with 3 senior CBs and sent the next 3 cabs off the rank in the u21s out on loan. Absolutely fucking ludicrous. Can they be recalled? I don’t think so. Unless you can plead severe circumstance?

I think our best bet is Middlesborough Away. It won’t be long before we write this season off again. Our fans need to demand much more than we are getting. The squad is a horror show. Nowhere near challenging for the bear minimum play off positions.

I see us struggling all season with this group and maybe just staying in the division. I don’t see any quality we are just a load of blokes having a kick about currently. It’s not turned out well and after this run of games I think we will be firmly in the bottom three. Very worried.

Why can't we give them 90 minutes? They’re to be eased into the side as they settle and develop match fitness. I don’t think it’ll be long until they’re ready from the start. Burger and Jun-ho look fitter and better than Johnson and Laurent. Get them in the starting eleven now.

Bit harsh this tonight. We're missing our first choice front three, are nursing our 4M midfielder back and are now down to 1 fit centre half. The latter one is on the club for sure, as we've left ourselves short, but the injuries again are ridiculous and killing us. Thought we put in a very good shift against a decent side. I have fuck all sympathy re defenders. You reap what you sow. We left ourselves with 3 senior CBs and sent the next 3 cabs off the rank in the u21s out on loan. Absolutely fucking ludicrous. It absolutely mental Baker and Okaguabe are out on loan. Especially with just having three CBs in the club surely keeping one in the building was the minimum. Baker to me, although not as physical as David, had a real chance of making it at Champ level.

I was also very disappointed with the result and very dissatisfied with the quality of our play, just not good enough.
But I must say that for the first time since before the relegation season we seem to have a set of players with a bit of desire and fight in them.
They were trying and they were playing for each other. The execution was poor but if they keep trying and work at it, they will get better.
I thought Southampton were an odd team. very much like our team they had talented players but were not coordinating well and their finishing was poor. We have played better teams this season but the talent in the Southampton team is very good.
As for the ref. I have rarely seen such a one eyed ref. He was not wrong in his decisions against us, but he let Southampton get away with murder.
Felt sorry for Neil tonight with injuries, players errors and poor passing, and the referee everything is going against him.

Burger and Jun-ho look fitter and better than Johnson and Laurent. Get them in the starting eleven now. Wasting your breath mate. If he does drop those two it will devalue his transfer ethos of literally building a squad around the dead duck partnership that is Laurent and Campbell. He won’t do it. I think he has a mental block that prevents him from progressing this squad. He is boxing himself into a failing corner. As some think, he doesn’t have long left.

Yet another home defeat we must have one of the worst home records in the country over the last 12 months. Sadly i don't see that changing looking at our up coming fixtures the fans deserve much better than whats being served up by a manager that is clearly failing like the ones before him.

Heartening to see a bit of battling in a Stoke side, however, we certainly didn’t deserve to win and could quite easily have lost by more in the end. Yes, the ref was atrocious, but they could have buried us by that point. We definitely struggled with quality in the final third but are missing players that will make the difference when chasing a game.
Not sure where that puts me overall. Extremely tough game on Saturday without a proper defence by the look of it. Fully expect we’ll be around 20th going into the international break, sadly.
I enjoyed the performance and clapped them all off for their effort, but not sure it was overly brilliant in terms of what we are trying to do. I feel like all the pieces have been there at certain points so far already, but never all at once and the more injuries we have, the further away we get from being the team we want to be.

What do the Coates family think. Another manager spending loads of their blood money. And yet nothing has changed.

What annoys me is that for the last 5 seasons we have never ever had a team that looks solid, isn’t susceptible to errors and is physically superior to the opposing team. You can throw talent and skill in the bob in this league if you can’t outmuscle and tactically match the opposing team. It’s becoming increasingly clear to me that we have just bought shiny new toys with no eye to how they can fit together and no iota of a mind to the physical nature of the league. We could well get relegated if confidence drains as this lot couldn’t fight there way out of a paper bag.

Playing players who shouldn’t be playing and a reluctance to play those who should.
Do we stick or twist?
Our run of fixtures is horrid.
We’ll lose Saturday and have 3 difficult games after that.
Is the international break the time to make the change? It does feel like it.

I'm far from an AN fan check my post history from day dot I didn't want him, I don't like him and ai can't warm to him. If he was sacked tomorrow ide be delighted, that being said tonight I thought he se the team up right, I liked what we were trying to do and for the most part I thought we played better football than we have done all season. I thought the changes he made we correct and at the right time. I think tonight we have been out done in gamesmanship aided and abetted by a complete cunt of a ref, even saying the free kick was the one and only right call he made. For me AN gets a pass for tonight even though I'm bitterly disappointed.

Sunderland at home after the international break.
You can almost hear the “sacked in the morning chants” ringing around the Bet365 as Jack Clarke bags an 83rd minute winner…….

I wanted him gone but now I'm losing interest in the situation. The club is stalling again after giving us a little bit of hope again over the summer for the first time in years.

I think the players are putting a shift in for him. I also think our problems / league position are entirely predictable (although exacerbated by injuries) - many of us said signings weren’t happening quickly enough when you looked at the potential nightmare of the Oct fixture list. What I do find a bit unforgivable is the very basic oversight of providing the team with a well resourced and effective defensive unit when signing the vast amount of players he did. I have never heard him or the recruitment bloke be asked why this was allowed to happen. Surely to goodness it should have been the basis upon which any push up the table should have been built.
