Decades ago my mate, Stoke fan who lived in Tunstall decided to watch Vale v Gillingham, Gillingham had scored 10 the week before and something like 30 in 4 prior games Vale had also been scoring freely and had won 6.0 away at Fulham the week before it was of course 0.0 with no shots on target I’ll still be gob smavked if it’s 0-0 v Southampton indeed any of the next 5

It’s amazing what one win can do Still needs to go for me hope A manager can only win one game at a time. Every winning streak or promotion push begins can begin with a single win. At 3pm today, all that Alex Neil could hope to achieve at best was a win by 4.50pm; he could not achieve more on the day. So I will give him that. He should be encouraged to repeat the success (which won't happen in every game, of course) so let's not pre-judge future results until they happen.

1 win changes nothing! You must have a very short memory 17 new players ….injuries to key players the hull game wasn't good......the others we should have won a few wins we will be up there I don't buy the should of won, you don't get points for those games. Barring the purple patch last season, he's been poor since coming in. Absolutely no excuse not to address the defence majorly in the off season with the data and resources we seem to have and now we're stuck till January before we can try and address this area. He talks a good game but I'm yet to see it with him. If it carries on like it is, our season will be over before December

Where's all the give him time brigade now?! He's fucking clueless! Oh dear. You, Muffin, Thornstein, Mackey have all seen your arse. Just give it time. Not seen my arse mate, seen sense. One win changes nothing, he's got to follow it up in the next 2 games before the break.

At 15 minutes in today I was wobbling with Neil, I was also questioning where to go, a new team, a new TD, a new recruitment officer, we get a new manager with new ideas, we get rid, we’re right back to where we we’re when Rowett left. I’m still not convinced but the team did it for him today and I hope they pull it round because I just want us to competitive.

Let's hope that this is the start of AN turning this ship around. 👍
After 15 minutes today it looked like Bristal had put a another nail into his coffin. However, fair play to the lads today, they have shown a fair bit of character to get the game turned around.
If we can pick up another result in mid-week (even a point) it will help to buy AN a little breathing room.

Massive boost for the dressing room going into a run of tough games to come from 2 down to win, without Vidigal aswell

He needs to build on this now, his brief history with us suggests he won’t but let’s see. For me his position remains just as precarious as it was before the game started, and that’s in the eyes of the powers that be not just myself, they will have been expecting a lot more than this.

He certainly needs to follow it up with a decent run of results, if he navigates the next 6 games, with some decent wins, he will be fine, anything less and the pressure is ramped up again.

I remember similar feelings when Nathan Jones got that late win at Swansea. Hopefyully this wont be the false dawn that that was Seems like a bit of a difference here though. 2 nil down away and you win it with a kiddie striker scoring. Confidence should be soaring Just please drop Laurent for me

Just relieved to get the win today, although not as relieved as Neil will undoubtedly be. Players finally turned up today, well for the second half at least. Still feel we need to score at least two a game to get any points though. Nothing has changed defensively. Let’s see midweek if it gives them any confidence or if it’s yet another false dawn.

Yeh that's great, a clubs fans giving up on the manager after 9 games. I don't think they have btw. it’s a lot more games than that and you know it , and i heard the chants of “ sacked in the morning “ , the away fans are normally more tolerant than most as well Yes I saw that, did they sing it at full time too....

Was concerned but not calling for AN’s head after recent performances and despite a very pleasing win he isn’t the messiah yet.
Needs to start showing consistency with performances and formations
His unwillingness to drop Laurent is a massive concern for me

AN post match interview...I forget the exact quote , but at half time he asked the players to show bravery/bottle / belief
Then went and played an 18 year old ( lowe ) 19 year old ( junior) and 20 year old ( junho )
He showed the bravery himself , that he asked for from his players and I like that a lot .
A harsh 7 out of 10 for me . 11 out of ten for picking junior/junho/lowe 4 out of 10 for still cant defend a corner kick . How long are we going to take to sort this out?

Pleased with a very, very much needed win. He has got some way to go to get his points per game tally up and I most sincerely hope he does, but half an eye must be kept on the bigger picture as it’s a results game after all. At 2 nil down the stoke fans were singing ...you are getting sacked in the morning , So what does he do ?. ...play an 18/19and 20 year old in the second half ...lowe/junior/junho Well done Alex Neil But our defending of a simple corner kick is slapstick comedy again and again and again . And has been for weeks, Sort it fxcking out. You are the manager, Sort it out.

6 points off the play-off spots with 37 games to go.
Far to early to judge anything, one thing is for sure with each new game an understanding starts developing on & off the pitch and players start to settle, that can only have a positive effect.
Campbell, Mmaee, Vidigal & Stevens all to come back in.
If we can keep in touch until January we have a great opportunity to add a couple of pieces to the squad

With only a 2 point cushion to the relegation berth we/he needs to push on from here or the 2 weeks gap might be very uncomfortable for him.

Yesterday definatley gives us the right boost to take is into them games, if we can beat Southampton ( not impossible they're only tenth) the picture looks a whole lot brighter going into Leicester. We won't get a more difficult month than October fixture wise. Depends how you look at it I suppose, it's not been written yet. I do agree with Neil's post match presser though Yesterday, this team will get better but it needs time. That's it in a nutshell for me

Delighted with the 3 points but 2-0 down after 15 mins is still a mega shit show. Zombie manager now. Back from the dead and bailed out by players he refused to play for weeks (Junior and Lowe in particular). He limps on to the next game. Let’s see how it goes next time. I am still far from convinced that we will get anywhere with this defence though! Yep they started awfully, but got back into it and continued to improve. I'd say more strolls into to the next game while sticking two fingers up but okay. Hasn't Lowe only just come back from an injury? Won't be popular with some, your comments there but you nailed it
