Is this the negative arseholes thread this week? - just asking on behalf of Benji So you think 3 defeats without scoring in 5 games should be a positive?

We should break the dong to get Potter
AN is a passenger at this stage and we know he isn’t signing the players
Rylan is 😁

Just another journeyman manager of lower league mediocrity - glad I'm not paying for this shite any more

Everyone raved about the side pre kickoff. Just didn’t happen today but with Vidigal back, Junho integrated and Mmaee as an option and we’ll be fine I reckon. Not if he keeps picking Hoever and Campbell

Battered them and lost. Simple as that. Campbell shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. I wouldn’t say battered. We only looked like scoring after we’d shipped 2. Yeh to be fair we only had 75% possession! Battered them but couldn't create or attempt too much.

It’s just as likely, so what the hell. I haven't seen many teams chasing Potter. His biggest success so far is Brighton and we could afford to give him a very competitive wage. He really isn't a manager we couldn't tempt here. What are you basing that on? The job he did at Brighton will net him a Prem job no trouble.

And they didn't look like scoring at all until the ref gave them a chance. I’ve seen quite a few replays of it. On balance it probably wasn’t a penalty, but can see why it was given. Nevertheless, we’re at home. We need to take it to them. He 100% dived, not a chance that microscopic touch did anything to his balance. Just look at his feet going backwards!

Awful setup today. Killed any semblance of wanting to win from the start using an away from home lineup. Very poor. Early still but shit that was awful knowing their strategy from kickoff. Don't get this. What was wrong with the setup? AN couldn't know that Campbell would be absolutely pathetic and that Laurent was going to hide again. The players let us down today. One of the best defensive sides in the league and he decided to hoof it to Wesley and hope their midfield would be asleep allowing Wouter and Laurent to roam free? It's just terrible strategy, you don't think overloading midfield and having more forward threat from the start playing to foot wouldn't have opened them up more? They hardly looked pressed at times and we only had two chances in and behind them all match. It was quite possibly AN worst league setup I've seen as manager. Either he's experiencing, inept or just trying to keep consistency but eitherway it was a bad call.

Needs time for the side to settle but we won’t improve till Laurent and Campbell are dropped. They need to earn their place and they’re not doing that right now. Low on quality and both look half arsed. They’ll have 1 good game in 5 and the rest of the time they’re anonymous.
I still think we’re moving in the right direction however.
To give AN the benefit of the doubt I’d like to think Bae Vidigal Ryan Junior
Will start after the break. If not and he continues with dross like this and the first half at Millwall his position really needs looking at.

Throw on numerous subs in and hope it works

If we're still around 16th by the middle of October he will be under huge pressure. It's his squad now so no excuses.

We could definitely tempt Potter to come here. Nebulous concepts of being ‘bigger’ don’t wash with teams actually in the Premier League and he could land a decent sized one too. He turned down Leicester in the summer, he can bide his time and wait for a call from the top flight or even abroad.

He needs start picking up points and quick. We have a seriously tough October and he will be brown bread if we're still putting in shit performances like we did today. You want do something in this league you've got be beating the likes of Millwall and Preston, shocking.

Either he's experiencing, inept or just trying to keep consistency but eitherway it was a bad call. Then again, who should he have started? I doubt he told Laurent to "don't press them at all, just wander around aimlessly". Pearsons 40 second yellow didn't help either. And overloading the midfield? They had 9 men in the box for 80% of the game. When they do that you need to find a way to lure them out, and I think that was the plan, only our players couldn't execute it. The game should have ended 0-0, not remotely good enough, but very far from "awful setup" IMO. If Campbell could do more than win throw-ins we'd have won.

What was anyone expecting from him given his record?
He's a sub par manager at best thats made a career living off other people's work.
Norwich, he inherited a prem team in the championship. The Norwich fans I know all say they went up in spite of tactics not because of them. He got found out massively in the prem.
Sunderland, turns up after the window is shut, they bumble their way over the line but he wants to take full credit for it???
Preston where he actually had to do some work was a loop of a couple of random good results followed by abysmal defeats ending in mid table obscurity if they were lucky.
His problem is he genuinely thinks he's some sort of tactical genius obsessed with 'out smarting' the opposition rather than than focusing on his own team. Ever since he arrived it's impossible to understand what the game plan is each week and it's painfully obvious the players don't either because he can't stop messing with it.
I'm sure the excuse 'the new guys need time to bed in' will be wheeled out but it was exactly the same last season, every week it was like watching a bunch of people who'd never met each other before.
For me it's no coincidence the 1 run of good results after Christmas coincided with us only having 11 fit players and him being forced to play a consistent team and tactics for a few weeks. Then as soon as we got a few people fit, he went back to playing at being guardiola and back down the table we went.
We would have ended up with more points last season if we'd stuck with O'Neil.

Neil has the tactic of.... Be tactically outfoxed by the opposition coach from the off Throw on numerous subs in and hope it works I think in some ways that’s the frustrating thing. He never seems to set up like he wants to take the game to them. Today was crying out for Burger and Pearson doing the dirty work and either Johnson or Bae in a the more advanced role where they could run at them. For pretty much the whole game till the late subs no one wanted to run at the defence and maybe force a foul they just kept laying the ball off before losing it.
