I would like to think he is expendable with Ricky, Jared and John running things. Can Jared recruit head coaches too? It remains to be seen whether that’s actually how it’ll work though doesn’t it? It’s how it should work, but given Ricky is AN’s man there’s no guarantee it’s not a package deal. Correct. Though should AN part ways and Ricky went you’d be scratching your eyes out. Just doesn’t happen anymore does it? I’d hope Ricky would go full Tom Wambsgan’s on Alex, I quite like him.

Results in his 12 months so far simply haven’t been good enough and I hope and feel he thinks the same himself. Is there actually anyone saying we should fuck him off? I think the job of transforming the squad has only been partially completed. I expect a better season than last particularly at home. If he provides that I’d be quite happy for him to have next Summer to finish the job, as much as it’s ever finished.

Do you know many points Pulis picked up in his first season of his second spell?
We got 6 points in the first 5 games. And 9 in the first 10.
Give AN time. The season is long (and hard).

He was still manager , excuses aside . but these are his players let's judge him on that Amazing how 40 games can be ignored Let's judge him on the job he came to do and do so far he's lost 62% of the games he's been in charge. I judge managers personally on what they do, not what I hope they might do. The not his players excuse was rolled out every week for a year almost, now it's give them time to gel. He's lost 3 games already and got more than enough players to pick an 11 from.

I think the last paragraph is quite interesting, Stoke as a club for years now have not had a club football style, we've gone from one style of manager to another style of manager to another style of manager and at the same time been horrendous in the market. As a result we've ended up with a complete shambles of a squad there were not particularly good at anything. Neil has come in, got to the window where we can make major changes, they are major changes aswell, a whole new squad nearly. Can we not at least give it chance to establish and work together for a few months before drawing premature conclusions? Look at that squad on paper now, these players have been brought in to play a particular way, they've been hand picked for to fit into a particular role in a style of football we want to establish. For the first time in absolutely ages I'm excited about watching the end product when they've got to know and understand each other as players and as people.

Stoke need to pick a style of football and stick with it, when the changes are necessary you go for a manager that compliments the style you have got the players for. This has been a major hinderence to our progress, because each time its back to square one and with each new appointment the hill to his success gets steeper

He could win 7 in a row, lose two on the bounce and half the people on here would be calling for a change.
Quite pathetic really. People with an agenda who just want to say “I told you he was Shit”.
I’m not quite sure what they expect. This is Stoke. We win some we lose some. Occasionally in our history we have the odd exceptional year. This year we have played 5 games. FFS give it a rest.

I wasn’t overly impressed last season but he does deserve a chance to turn it around with his own squad Pot kettle black big man 🤣🤣 The issue with MON is that it’s been proven that by and large the players already at the club, and the players he bought into the club were by and large not fit to wear the shirt. MON had several years to address this and failed miserably. It can be argued that he had limited funds but the counter to that is so did the majority of the Championship, especially Luton who found themselves in the play-offs and subsequently promoted with hardly any budget. In my eyes judging Neil on last season is pointless because he has the same terrible squad that MON had and based on the evidence we have there is no evidence that MON and whatever support system that was in place had any idea of how to successfully recruit players to be competitive in this division and he had plenty of opportunity to do so. Neil and the supporting staff, Martin, Dublin may also turn to be ineffective but it’s unknown at this point. Bottom line is MON demonstrated clearly he wasn’t capable of doing what is required and with Neil it’s very much up in the air.

No chance he will get the opportunity to continue if he’s in the dog fight at the bottom come November it’s just gravity no matter how loyal the owners that would be 60 plus games and a bucket full of invedtment and people change to go backwards and it’s looking increasingly likely .

There’s no more excuses. They are virtually all his players. There is nowhere to hide. A win ratio of 20-30% going forward will see AN Looking for new Employers. He will get the whole season. Finish bottom half and I consider that an abject failure. There needs to be a cataclysmic revamp of our results, not just playing staff ! Fingers crossed eh ☝️

Fail that and he should be gone and we should get a manager in who can use the tools available.

I think ten games is fair, he's had nearly two weeks to work with the players on the training ground. I would reasonably expect to see some cohesion and understanding develop over the next month on the pitch. These are very much his players.

Can we judge him on last season, the reason he came to Stoke was because he was told he could overall the club from top to bottom.
He was going through the motions last season because he knew a vast majority of the players wouldnt be here for this season.
