Great result. Nearly threw it away by bringing Laurent on. God knows what AN sees in him! We were under the cosh a bit and again some very odd subs. The side netting chance was the turning point and NcNally was excellent for me

The side netting chance was the turning point and NcNally was excellent for me Laurent was 3 yards off the pace. Casually jogging around. Added nothing and a lazy pass from him nearly cost us the 3 points. Looks like his head had gone and he is just seeing out his contract.

I think his substitutions told you all about how he felt, he was under extreme pressure to get a result, he stuck to his tried and tested lieutenants in what I think he viewed as a must win game. Has there ever been a team who passed the ball so poorly. Lowe's ball at the end summed it up, easy pace to play in Gooch and he undercooked it and we were under pressure again.

Get our fit players back and would you believe it, we bag a win against a Top 6 team. Fancy that! Something a lot from the Neil bloodlust gang couldn’t grasp. Now can we please reset, get off his back, and judge him on results or performances between now and the next international break at least??! It doesn't hide the rest of the performances ..a massive needed win and fought hard I get that Neil has made one or two errors of judgement, but performances haven’t been great largely because of the injuries. I have always been willing to be objective and to judge Neil on a fit squad. He now has that, so the ball is in Neil’s court now.

Well, that was a desperately needed win!
I would not say that we were particularly impressive, but we dug in and found a way to grind out a result.
We rode our luck a little bit towards the end. However, it is about time we had some damn luck!
For the love of God, please can we follow this up with another positive result on Wednesday! 😅😂

I would say that we rode our luck today, but there were also signs of green shoots. We're a very different team when we have Stevens, Mmaee, Vidigal and Burger all available to play and hopefully this is the sort of nervy win that you need to kickstart a good run.

I still think the manager needs to go but that was a fantastic win in tricky circumstances.
Scrappy and horrible it certainly was, but I’ve never bought into the “pretty football” stuff, I just want three points. We got them.
I totally hope I’m wrong and we turn it round from here. Every win counts.
Onwards.

Not one player in yesterday’s starting XI was at the club at the start of the 2022/23 season. We are in the midst of massive change and it will take time to gel. Our attack is much improved from last season and our midfield showed promise for the first time yesterday

Pearson and Burger linking up nicely yesterday etc.

Alex Neil, got lucky in this one. let's be honest we looked pretty awful. I wouldn't say we were awful ,we were ok, no more . Certainly had a bit of luck v a side who thankfully didn't have much up top apart from a fella who was more interested in trying to con the ref. You always have a chance when you see the name Pritchard on the opposition team sheet There are 2 good sides in this league, Leicester and Leeds, the rest ,is bugger all between and anyone can beat anyone. You don't have to be at the top of your game to beat teams at this level,we'll play better and lose. With Maee and Vidigal I think we'll win games like today v average opposition but need to start putting wins together as a week of results can catapult you from 18th to 8th Wednesday will be an interesting test. Sunderland are gash , Leeds aren't but a result is far from beyond us... if we pick the right team

He needs to show he can demonstrate a run of form and pick players on performance levels and on the right positions.
Until then. He still needs to go

I think they mean that Neil needs to go on an unbeaten run now to balance against the crap run we've just been on in order to win back favor and stop people calling for his job?
For me he needs to get results in the next few games. He's paying now for needless defeats against crap teams like hull, Preston

I think he at least needs to be given a run of games where most of the injured are available for selection, if after that there are no signs of consistent improvement, we need to think long and hard as to if he is the right man. We simply can not go on win one, lose a few, win one moving forward.

We simply can not go on win one, lose a few, win one moving forward. One streaky win doesn’t convince me, we weren’t awful against Sunderland but we weren’t convincing either and his subs were awful as normal, he’s seen enough of Laurent to know better by now. As you say he needs a run of wins continuing tomorrow, something he hasn’t achieved since the blip last season, I’m not convinced he’s up to it. Time will tell I suppose but it would be nice for once if we could employ a manager who could make an instant improvement to our form, working with existing players and improving them and bedding new players in quickly with a clear idea how and where to play them. Neil has shown little of the above since the time he’s been here. Another season is going by and we’re already talking about consolidation, bedding in and building for next season, same old.

I think that is the most disappointing thing about the last six years. Every year we seem to get to Christmas and and up talking about getting through the rest of the season so that we can rebuild in the summer. I just want us to actually go on a little unbeaten run. It seem forever since we won two or three games on the bounce or even went five or six games without losing. Tomorrow night is important. We have to pick up a point at least and start putting together some kind of run.
