Genuine question, is there anything remotely Korean (community/restaurants etc) in the Stoke area or Staffs/Cheshire for that matter, to help him feel a little bit more at home? The Chinese ‘super store’ opposite the 5 aside place sells Kimchi. Best I can think of! That place is bloody awesome... Highly recommend Japanese Gyosa.

Nice! Wishing this kid the absolute best. Hope he falls in love with the place, stays, then opens up a successful Korean fusion restaurant of his own. Oatcakes with kimchi - bound to be a winner!

You just know that if this lad isn’t a success, it won’t be for lack of trying.

I did think the club might have helped him bring some family over but then I thought about when I got a major pay rise when I was 20 and all I wanted to do was get as far away from my family as I could and balls deep in some slags. Granted I only went from Stoke to Barnsley though, so maybe not that comparable. What a fucking post this is 😂

I reckon oatcakes with a robust cheese, possibly stilton, and the acidity of kimchi to cut through the fat would be a winner. This is real fusion cuisine.

I'd really like to know how this young man is expected to settle into s-o-t. The culture difference is enormous, so young and so far from home? He's surely not coming to live in this country on his own?
I'm sure he's potentially a fantastic player but he's human, a young one at that, never left his home country. how is he expected to settle in S-o-t? I'm really interested to know the answer to what settling in plans we have for such players?

He’ll move into a Manchester city centre apartment and never come near the place apart from training and match days probably……

Now we probably will anyway.

He’s a Stoke City player, and pride in the shirt will be better cultivated by growing a familiarity with the local surroundings. Manchester may be a bigger city with more shops and restaurants, but no one there will give him the time of day. Over here, people will fall over themselves to make him feel welcome. Keep it traditional and find him a family to live with close to the training ground.

I'm really interested to know the answer to what settling in plans we have for such players? Lots of others have already managed it, whilst clearly some don't. He, and the club, just need to learn the lessons of those who have gone before and pick out the right approach to suit. Football clubs have a duty of care toward their staff and I get the feeling that Stoke do this pretty well, all in all. Equally, players need to do all they can to fit in...and some, in the past, clearly have not. Yes Imbulla, I do mean you Hopefully our recruitment team have done their due diligence in respect of this guys character and attitude, in addition to his ability, to optimise the chance of success. Chiquinho was a strange one as he was already at an English club, but then maybe it was just coming to Stoke and the EFL that was beneath him

Genuine question, is there anything remotely Korean (community/restaurants etc) in the Stoke area or Staffs/Cheshire for that matter, to help him feel a little bit more at home? Miso, Japanese restaurant- appreciate its not Korean - is fantastic if he’s in the mood for sushi. Opposite side of the road and just down from Sainsburys in Stoke.
