Is national service still in force in S Korea and will it affect this lad?
I seem to recall Son at Spurs having some issue having to return to undertake or register for national service and missing game time. Or is my memory just continuing to fail.

I’m starting to think, having read this forum for years, that some of the fan base are happy with us being in a slump as it gives them something to moan about. We’ve lost 2, won 3, it really isn’t worth getting so upset. We’ve got nearly 5 days left and looks like incomings to improve us further. Yes Neil got the first half wrong but once the signings are in and settled I hope he will have us playing 4-3-3 and it won’t be long before we dish out a few spankings. We won’t win every game, that’s football. No but the away form (ironically) is a concern, and in the first half yesterday we were schooled by an average manager under pressure, and we made a one dimensional team on a bad run look better than they are. We are ignoring the second half then? We were playing the best team in the division at the style of football they play, lots of set pieces, throw ins, high crosses, disrupt the opposition's style of football with niggly fouls and keep it really tight at the back. They were always going to be up for it yesterday coming off the back of two consecutive defeats including their last home game. They are not going to lie down and die after that. Add the extra spice of Rowett and the Stoke crowd. At least Neil had the guts to see he'd got it wrong and the resources to change it at half time. He also admits he possibly started with the wrong team. But two of his subs had been in the building for 1-3 days, one was in the squad for the first time this season and Pearson had been dropped last week after Ipswich and his replacement deserved to keep his place. He has openly said that those players who perform best in matches and training get picked. Getting back to the thread title, Bae Jun-ho is the sort of player we need in this sort of match so if he watched (which I doubt) I'm sure he'd be able to see where he'll fit in the team.

Last time I looked football was a 90 not 45 minute game. The first half was a shambles and it cost us. You don't try and beat Millwall in an 'arm wrestle', because they're masters at it and unlike us they have the players to suit it.

This really would be a massive coup for us I think. Highly regarded in the U20 World Cup, clubs around Europe after him. I'd like to think we've really sold the project to him (and no doubt offered a decent wage). It'll be massive hats off to the transfer team for identifying him as a potential target and getting him through the door.

Loving the signings and the overdue forage into the overseas market..
But, still think we need some "steel" in the team.
Big brute of a centre half would do nicely.
If .. (big if i know) Wes gets up to speed, then a spine of Travers, xxx, Wouter and Wes with a periphery of Vidigal, Bae, Wilmot, Hoever and others would do nicely.

Well, he made it to the airport. www.starnewskorea.com/stview.php?no=2023082814301129510&pDepth=news&pDepth1=sports&pDepth2=soccer2'Son of Daejeon' leaves Korea to transfer to Stoke City "The moment I've always dreamed of.. The ultimate goal is to advance to the big leagues" Bae Jun-ho is about to move to Stoke City, which belongs to the English Championship (second division). Stoke City are currently in the Second Division, but were once in the English Premier League (EPL). They are considered one of the most likely teams to win promotion this season. Bae Jun-ho had an interview at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 on the 28th. He said "It's a moment I always dreamed of, but I wanted to go. I wanted to go to Europe. The ultimate goal is to advance to the big leagues. I am still excited,” he said. When asked why he chose Stoke City, he said, “It’s a club where I can play right away, and they actively wanted me. (Playing style) has changed a lot from before. I thought it was definitely a good team. I think I just need to adapt well,” he explained. Bae Jun-ho's agent, Root One CEO Lim Se-jin, said, "Stoke City has undergone a major rebuild since the appointment of a manager. Last season, there were only about three starters left. They needed a creative player, and Bae Jun-ho was offered by Stoke City.” Bae Jun-ho, who we met at Incheon International Airport on the 28th, said, "I have always dreamed of playing on the European stage. Thanks to that, such a good opportunity came." On this day, the Daejeon front desk directly came out to the airport and supervised the press conference for Bae Jun-ho's departure. It is a very rare sight. Usually, the player's agent does this. A Daejeon employee explained, "Bae Jun-ho is a very important player to our club, so I took care of him myself."

Also had it reduced from 2 years to a few weeks due to them winning the Asian Cup. If this guys as good as his potential suggests, he should be in a similar position to Son and if not, he’ll delay to the last minute and we’ll get him for 9 years before he goes
