Another inspired piece of business by Jared. are we losing or making money on him 🤷♂️ They would need to pay us €1.67m for us to break even on him

He’s constantly pulling people up for their ‘weird’ behaviour & personal attacks too. Hang on a minute… It is indeed weird that Stoke fans love shit footballers and triers like Leris so much. He’s done nothing for this club. What is is Tatlock used to say? Thanks for nothing, now fuck off? Applies to Leris. I agree but it’s also strange fans thinking all the u21s are world beaters. Leris isn’t shit he’s a average squad player

Average footballers can control a football. Leris can’t. With 9 subs I don’t have him making the bench. That’s not average.

Weirdly enough I thought his first touch and close control for that goal against Crewe were outstanding. Made me think we might see a different player this season

I’m probably in the minority here but I’d have kept him over Gooch. Scored some good goals and his heading ability is incredible and a great & different option.

Think he has something to offer. In many away games last season, he was an outlet that was pivotal to us winning games. Will need replacing, would rather keep him I think.

Must have the highest aerial duel % of anybody who has ever played for us (excluding CB's).
Seemed a good lad overall, would go with good wishes.

Looks like the only one we’re close to is Gallagher and if you think his ceiling is higher than Mmaee there’s no point in us having this discussion

Think he gives a decent option in a number of positions. Got good energy and half decent ability. Not a world beater by any means and like you say, we looked a lot better when he was up the top end of the field because he won every header and the ball stuck up there.

Why would you? If you did you’d be admitting you were out of order, which you absolutely are. Give over. He’s just some shit footballer who has done nothing for this club. If I was @ing him or something then you’d have a point but I’m not. Why people get so precious about these people is beyond me especially ones that have bought nothing but sub standard football to this club. It's because as fans we feel that the players who play for their club represent us in some way and therefore we feel bound together with them, even though we have almost no control over what they do on the pitch. Given that fans can't control how good players are, more or less the only influence we can really have over our teams is by trying to affect how much effort players put in by maintaining the belief that 'If you try and have a good attitude and are professional, you will be rewarded by our support and good feeling towards you.' It's pretty much all we have. Of course that isn't very much in the grand scheme of things, but that reflects how powerless we are as fans of teams. Writing 'good riddance' to Mehdi Leris on this messageboard which he will never read is obviously not personally insulting to him, but it's annoying to some other fans reading it on this board because it suggests that the effort he did put it was a complete waste of time, which in turn suggests that it's actually irrelevant how much effort anyone puts in on the pitch, which removes an important connection between fanbase and team. You have to believe that encouraging footballers to try hard is good, otherwise there's almost no point of supporting a team in my opinion. Some mild philosophising for you on this Sunday evening.

Fucking useless player, this is great news. A bit less of that Bayern. This is where you often let yourself down. There are so many more ways of expressing how you feel about his departure than how you have done. You won’t accept that what you’ve said is out of order but I’m telling you that it is. I agree entirely. Somebody really needs to clip his wings . We all have our moments but I’ve never met someone who is so obnoxious. Totally uncalled for

Strikers will come in and they will be better than Mmaee. Gallagher isn't I’m kinda with you about Mmaee, there’s a player but will he get the level of consistency that’s required for us to get near playoffs. Mmaee leaving with is fine if we land say Gallagher and Cannon. If we can’t get cannon or some similar , id he happy to roll the dice with Gallagher and Mmaee and get the young lads out on loan.

Leris certainly isn’t the best player to have donned the red & white stripes that’s for sure. But he gave his all and for that he maybe hasn’t earned our adoration but he’s has earned a degree of respect. So I say thank you Leris & all the very best to you in the future. He was tried at RB and his touch & cross for the goal at Crewe was quality, so that Junior can only dream of ever doing. So I am hoping and praying that this paves the way for Hoever. We need 4/5 signings if we have any aspirations this season and they all need to be quality starters not squad fillers.

The effort was a waste of time. Lol that's exactly my point - you seem to think he would have deserved the exact same treatment if he had been just as untalented as he was but had been completely unprofessional and put no effort in whatsoever. That rankles with people - if we can't encourage effort and discourage lack of effort, we have no influence over anything as fans, because we can't make players better.
