The championship is pretty shit. He's a bang average championship player. Not sure what you're expecting from a freebie from a relegated Serie A team noone's ever heard of. That would be like signing a freebie from a play-off team that didn't go up. Personally I think he's lost faith in the manager. He's been poor in the last games, but he's also been out of the team a lot lately. Pretty sure he wasn’t a free transfer. Not sure where you’ve dreamed that up. Fee of around £1M. Oh, ok. Still not the worst signing this summer. And £1M isn't a whole lot today.

Absolutely not the worst signing of the Summer was Wesley and he was free but is on obscene wages. Sooner we offload him and Gayle we might be able to afford a proper striker. Maybe we could go for like desired attributes instead of names.

I’ve no idea what Leris is but he sure as hell isn’t a wide forward he is our second top scorer, how depressing.

I’ve no idea what Leris is but he sure as hell isn’t a wide forward 👍. Having no knowledge whatsoever about the player I watched him several times and commented “what the fuck” and he’s on a three year contract. Humble pie (with custard please) if in time ‘I’m proved wrong

"Work rate and grit" plus able to fill a few positions was probably the boxes he ticked. The problem is that AN seems to have no idea on what types of players he needs because he doesn't know how to build a squad to suit his "style of play". WHatever that is.

I maybe wouldn't have signed him at all? We needed a few players, if you remember Maybe one of the other few thousand footballers in the world would have been better?

We needed a few players, if you remember Maybe one of the other few thousand footballers in the world would have been better? Maybe. But we can only track so many of them. This isn't FM. I still think Leris has done what AN signed him for (see my reply above). AN seems to like this type of player - works aaard and no skill (see Gooch and Johnson). As someone above said, he's our second top scorer.

He was utter dogshit today. He's lightweight (jibs out of every challenge), got no touch, no pace, no trickery, can't cross and today he stopped doing the only thing he's done well regularly, winning headers. But other than that he was class.
Having said all that he wasn't even our worst player. Stevens, Mmaee and Clark share that honour. Mind you had they been on longer I'm certain Hoever and Wesley would have been vying for bottom spot. Two of the worst cameo performances I've seen for a long while.

He got one thing right in his after game interview. It is on him. As have the last 3 defeats as well. I was quite happy when we got him. Not particularly his style of play but I thought he was a clever tactician and a master at game management. How wrong I was.

The 'upgrade on Jacob Brown' is looking more like a downgrade on a wheelie bin.

He’s the biggest disappointment for me out of the summer signings because he offers absolutely nothing to the team. When he first came I thought his workrate/energy was decent but for me now he’s a passenger and I’m pretty sure he’ll be benched pretty soon by Schumacher

I thought he had a good game at Boro, and there was obviously the completely freakish worldie at Bristol City.
But, in general, he's confirming that buying someone with no pace, no trick and no goals record to play wide in the front three was probably a pretty strange idea.

The 'upgrade on Jacob Brown' is looking more like a downgrade on a wheelie bin. All of the forwards we signed in the summer are worse than Jacob Brown, he shits all over all of them. It takes a special recruitment team to manage that.

Similar - but Brown's got the edge in every respect, hasn't he? Much quicker and much more of an eye for goal. It'd take Leris about 5 seasons to get the 13 Jacob got in 21/22

The ultimate utility player Rubbish in every position he plays in Surely that's the opposite of the ultimate utility player? Steve Nichol was the ultimate utility player for Liverpool in the 80's, someone who can do a really good job in most positions. Leris is just very, very average.

Like Mmaee and Vidigal, early indications were that he could be mustard.
All have since been proven to be Gentleman's Relish.

Neither are strong or quick. Brown can finish when he doesn’t need to think. Both are just incredibly limited footballers.

It’s a strange one as he had a couple of really good games and one in particular where he had springs in his feet and won everything in the air. Last few he’s been woeful. Shame as he seems a good guy and has a decent attitude.

Brown is currently starting games for Luton in the Premier League and fetched a fee of around £5m. I'm sure it was you who scoffed at the suggestion we'd make a profit on him. He'd walk into a team currently 19th in the Championship and would instantly improve us.

Yes, he has regressed somewhat, you could see in his face yesterday when he came off, the look of a man who had been a chance to impress, but had bombed big time.
