Bet365 might have been brought in to help out. They’ll have a plethora of technical bods down the road, why wouldn’t they help their partner company? I have no connection to bet365, so don't know the arrangement. If you have a parent company whose main competitive edge is IT, would it make sense for a sports subsidiary to use them as a shared service? Stoke City do have their own IT staff but they do occasionally use bet365 IT staff as well. However the site is hosted by a third party company so if they were having issues uploading to the site (which they are not), it would be the third party’s responsibility to resolve the issue, not Stoke City or bet365. |

Stoke were advertising for a Service Desk Engineer a few weeks back, applications had to be sent to bet365.
The I.T operation down there is huge, and I believe there is a general interlinking between the two sites. We have similar at where I live, where our main office is linked to retail outlets and a sister site through WAN.
In this case, it would seem to me that the network at the clubs end has gone down, the engineers at bet365 will have been alerted to this through some sort of system like Pulseway or Windows Server giving off errors.

You couldn't make it up..only at stoke. |

Not related to Stoke but my missus is a Head Teacher at a local high school, they have had no phone lines or internet for 2 days - been using their phones to tether mobile internet!
Good job its end of term and most kids left/on trips
