Watched the last episode of series 1 last night.

Realy great series, they have started filming series 2.

If you haven't seen it, give it ago, you won't be disappointed.

I thought the books were fantastic and persuaded the fiancee to pick them up cheap on Kindle a few months back. She's almost done and is loving them.

Nice to hear good stuff about the show! Book to TV has been a bit of a crapshoot, I was happy with the Expanse but pretty disappointed by Wheel of Time.

Have to say that the first 4 episodes seemed slow to me and I thought it was simply going to be another showpiecer.

It did get better as it went on though and the ending was good.

Having seen the 1st season I reckon the books could be better than the televised version, as with the Harry Potter books.

Well I have just finished the first book
It certainly is different.
Was not sure at first, but I am glad that I persevered.
Bid decision now is to either buy and read book2 or watch the series?

I'd say it's on par with Snowpiercer...but not quite as good as Foundation or 3 body problem or some other tier 1 sci-fi series.

I watch a lot of TV series and others from 'recent' years that i rate higher than Silo include (in no particular order)

Blue Eye Samourai, Castlevania, Beef, The Bear, Invincible, Sweet Home, Alice in Borderland, Hellbound, The Boys, Shrinking, Fallout, Severance, Twisted Metal, Gangs of London, Vikings Valhalla, Rick and Morty...etc.

Not to say I won't continue Silo. I have it on my watch list and am waiting on season 2...next month.

I've a few things on Apple TV I've not watched yet including Severance and Slow Horses. I can highly recommend For All Mankind for anyone who hasn't watched it but enjoys the space race.

I love Silo - it's in that next tier after my 5 or 6 absolute favourite TV series. Agreed with the above comment that Rebecca Ferguson is brilliant in pretty much everything she's in.

I also really enjoyed Severance on AppleTV, so I'm looking forward to the next series of that too.

As for Foundation, I watched half the first episode and I just couldn't be bothered to watch further, which is surprising as I usually give at least a full series a chance. Maybe I'll try it again one day.

Slow horses is great.
Watched all three series and about to binge watch season four soon.

Read Silo and bought book two but never got round to starting it.

The Silo series is excellent (books). Wool had me hooked on that first chapter. It's a good adaptation.

For Fallout I wasn't expecting much but it's probably one of the best video game adapations I've seen and I love the Last of Us.

Severance I can't wait for series 2. Bloody writers strike delayed this one.

Foundation I might go back to but I got bored after 2 episodes. Never read the books though.

Iirc they made a bunch of changes within 2 episodes and it was clearly going in a different direction.

Asimov got criticised for his characters being a bit flat and his representation of women apparently not up to today's standard. It's a while since I read them and I didn't notice, for me it was all about exploring big ideas and was fantastic.

Also it's three short books.

Not too keen on realistic stuff like line of duty and I thought 'Fool me once' was shit... but I really liked Luther.

Have to say UK stuff doesn't really do it for me anymore. Just seems low budget and the special effects are lacking.

A fair bit of quality American TV is made with British actors, British technicians and so on with the odd key US actor to front it

I think because of that the cream of British talent often isn't making out and out British TV shows

Loved the silo series one, saw this thread and found there's a book 

went straight to audible and searched Silo by Hugh Howey.

Cracking i thought. Now i have something i like to listen to for an hour before bed.
