Came to ask how long he signed for and it’s in the title. The worst signing of the summer. Fucking useless. The Johnson I saw play against us was mustard. The older version we’ve got is pale imitation, hopefully he’s dropped because Schumacher doesn’t have a personal connection. The only reason I can think that he started against Millwall is because Schumacher has been listening to Gallagher who is clearly biased. |

Never seems to be in control of the ball and his first touch is appalling for a professional footballer. Another who Schu hopefully sees through quickly. Having said that with the number who shouldn’t be starting we are running out of players 😂

Said it when he signed and I'll say it again, he's played the majority of his career for bang average bottom half fodder Preston, always will be a plodder. If he was any good he certainly wouldn't have been at Preston, in fact I think he's actually worse than Preston (if that's possible) the sooner Alex gets another job and takes him and his waster mate Ben with him the better. Looked 10x better in midfield yesterday without him and no stupid fouls around the box.

Sadly another player we have bought in who is in decline and as an attacking midfielder fails to deliver. His final ball is shocking, usually over hit when to get it right is simpler. Too many players signed on past glories and he is one of them.

He’s not as bad as many make out but he certainly isn’t the player he was at Preston.
Sadly, that had been obvious for the previous 18 months prior to signing him.
We still had people who failed to see right through Alex Neil though.

He's a tidy footballer still, but don't think he's dynamic enough to play in a SS team. Will be very interesting to see the team he sends out after the January window. I was quietly encouraged by the second half yesterday. The team looked much tighter and wasn't played through so easily and looked much more fluid going forward..I think SS will be good for us..

Rose and Hoever are dreadful defenders that can and have cost us. Plus Hoever can’t cross worth a damn. The fact we don’t score any goals and he isn’t contributing anything from an attacking position is just as harmful as Rose’s mistakes. Defensive errors wouldn’t keep costing us points if the attacking side ever gave us a chance. You can’t win games without scoring at least once. He’s the most harmful player to our chances every game. |

I think Bae will thrive in a SS team moving forward, there simply is no place for Pearson if he continues to hang onto the ball for so long, I absolutely hate when he pauses with the ball for a about 10 seconds, then passes it 5 yards sideways, which he could have done 10 seconds before 😳

Either he's saved all his best performances in a Preston shirt for when we played them, or he's seriously gone down hill.
Was quite pleased when we signed DJ, but aside from the Rotherham game, he's been poor. Needs to be well down the pecking order.

Didn't hate the signing at the time given where the squad was, and he looks classy on debut, but he's looked poor since. As you say, he's pretty much ineffective. Doesn't do much going forward and isn't great defensively. It's the same for most of our midfield, yet we keep buying more and more of the same player. |

There are probably three players who were brought in just get AN's ideas out on the pitch namey: DJ, BP and LG. Given that his ideas are no longer relevant, that is now a busted flush.
The side needs to be built around
New GK
New LB
New CB alongside McNally
Wouter
Junho
Junior
New Forward
All the other players will need to fit in the remaining spaces.

It won't happen but I'd like to see a midfield of Burger, Bae and Baker. The rest are either ineffective or just poor in their role.
Whilst Bae hasn't produced anything tangible, he needs a run of starts in a settled side from now on.

I had serious doubts in the summer over his creativity and it now seemingly looks like he's lost the ability to last the distance in terms of running and to lay off even the simplest of balls at the right time. He's too ponderous on the ball and just isn't covering the ground either.
In a system that I think Schumacher is trying to build, the two key players look like they are going to be the two 8s in midfield. They are going to be this manager's "Mama with goals" or "flying wingbacks in a diamond" etc.
Johnson isn't that player and neither is Laurent. Bae has potential.
On a messageboard where we are openly discussing the lack of creativity and goals I think this debate needs to be number 1 by a long way.

Aside of that he's been cack, and the amount of game time he's seen, is bordering upon criminal.
