He really wasn't  Gary Neville says he was. They were trailing Newcastle by 11 points, they only clawed it back when two experienced players, Schmeichel and Cantona, returned and were both phenomenal in the run-in. Yet Neville played, Scholes played, Giggs played, Beckham played and Butt and P. Neville played over18 games throughout the season- that’s pretty much the class of. 92- so I’m sorry Toxic, they did win a treble with young players and certainly the title when Newcastle imploded. |

I agree we probably will but I'm not sure he's the answer. I like Pearson but the combination never elevated Preston to serious contenders.

NOTE Based on 30 seconds on wiki I don't think he will be much help.
Best case he's another warm body to throw at the thing.

Average age of the squad in 93 was 23.7. This included Beckham, Butt, Neville & Scholes who were all 18. They didn't get any game time. I cant be bothered to work it out but the starting 11 average age would have been much higher as it included Schmeichel 29, Bruce 32, Pallister 28, Irwin 27, Parker 29, Ince 25, Phelan 30, Robson 36, Cantona 27, Hughes 29. |

Overall I'd be happy with this one (having seen a fair bit of Preston and Blackpool when we haven't been played) We still need two players per position though |

Them being no longer early 20s is pretty central to the whole ‘them being kids argument’ though mate? The 93 title winning team was mostly pretty experienced. The 96 double winning team absolutely had a lot of young players involved and it’s admirable, but again they ultimately needed the experienced players to get them over the line. |

Came on as a substitute again yesterday in Jamaica's 4-1 Gold cup win over Trinidad, Jamaica should reach the Quarter finals at least with just St.Kitts to play in the final group game, they lost 6-0 to USA.
If Johnson is signing for Stoke it will be at least 11th July before he can train with us.

I think the fact that everyone is so confident this is going to / already has happened, I think confirms in my mind that we will be doing this "multi-player" announcement thing again. Why else wouldn't he have been announced by now already?

He’s been away and will probably sort his future when he’s back. If he had signed, and like others have said, completed a medical in the states, they would just announce it. He will do his medical if and when he decides he’s joining the club |

Agreed. I don't think Norters' argument that Preston never got promoted with Pearson and Johnson has much validity. Middlesborough got relegated with Huth in their side - that didn't mean that Huth wasn't one of the best signings we made during our time in the Prem! |
