There must be quite the market in Sweden for the gangs to make enough money to make it all worthwhile. I don't see how that sits with the golf course comment? It's weird 🤷 "The Netherlands has had a pragmatic, intelligent policy of drug decriminalisation for 50 years. It now has a serious prison problem, because there are not enough prisoners to fill its prisons. Is that not a problem we would like to have here?" hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2017-07-18/debates/733C6229-49D0-4559-8F59-5F1244C2DE13/detailsWell, we have the super rich who uses them and according to the politicians also the gang members themselves. I think their first thought was when it was "only" gang members who shot each other, why bother? Now when ordinary people get in their way, "We have to act, we have to start a war against drugs", it sounded then. Lots of new apartments then! Sweden have the opposite problem, they say, no room for any type of criminals. Sweden is a weird country, I saw a program about prisons on tv and the communication between the prisoner plus staff in prison and the outer world when the prisoner were about to leave was almost non-existing. I think he could make ONE phone call to sort everything. Eeh? Almost noone could get a flat of course, some place to stay. No wonder they did what they could to get back again. Pathetic care. And now the government and Riksdag (Parliament) recently have decided if you commit a crime several times, over and over again, they have the possibility to never let such a person out! Assault is enough. A bit like China. 🤠 Think I'm beyond being surprised by the craziness of your country 😂

And you just posted one of the main arguments no Swedish government will support a decriminalisation of cannabis (or anything else).

Wow! Just wow!
Livsmedelsverket (an authority in Sweden directly under the government and the Parliament called Riksdagen) that deals with questions regarding nutrition, food and health et cetera have got the commission to investigate how what we eat affects our bodies, expected diseases and life lenghts.
So far they have come up with the fact that 40% of people going into a food store imagine they can buy some chocolate because "they deserve it". They are controlled by their need or addiction if you like, and not necessarily by what's good for them.
So now Livsmedelsverket are presenting a palette for the government with ways to control what people buy to consume, what they position on their tongues. It's said to include higher tax on sugar and on salt, ways to prevent people from getting the stuff at all (just like heroine prevention). Some people will obviously have stronger, not only rules, but laws, on what is acceptable or not.
Maybe two years in jail if you get the hands on some biscuits sent to you from abroad? 🤠

Anyone left that doesn't think that this situation is absolutely fucking ridiculous?
As I've said before, future generations will look at today's attitude towards cannabis and see parallels with the witch hunts of centuries ago, it's exactly the same.
Well done the Daily Mail 👏

😀 My eldest was telling me about this at the weekend, he also reckons there's a group of islands on a shipping lane somewhere in the Pacific where so much washes up on the shores they basically give it away for free 😀

I don't actually know what might happen, if anything, when this reaches the required number of signatures but what's being proposed definitely needs to happen - you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/demand-an-investigation-into-the-home-office-s-cannabis-policy-and-decision-making?share=b2b94405-2df8-4aa1-b0a7-0fc186d43a9c&source=&utm_medium=socialshare&utm_source="It seems that the Home Office accept advice from GW through the ACMD, but won't accept advice from the ACMD that may jeopardise GW's dominance and control over cannabis. It also seems that the Home Office has little regard for the public opinion, which then raises the question of who they are managing prohibition for." For those still unaware, GW Pharma were the company that Victoria Atkins' husband, as head of British Sugar (hence her having to recuse herself, as Drugs Minister, from discussing the most widely used illegal drug in the world! ) was growing the stuff for, all of it for export, obviously at huge profit. Theresa May's husband was part of Capital Finance, the company providing the funds for the venture. GW Pharma subsequently got sold to Jazz Pharmaceuticals in 2021 for $7.2 Billion, around $220 a share, very nice if you had inside info at the start and was aware of the monopoly you'd created for them... I hope the money eased the consciences of any of the MPs that loaded up on shares from the start, given how many people of this country have suffered and died thanks to their corruption. Epileptic kids could have had a safe medicine, PTSD suffering veterans could have had access to better medicine than the zombie state inducing pharmaceuticals currently provided, cancer sufferers could have had help with their treatment etc. The Emperor Wears No Clothes.

It's an absolute disgrace, hopefully one day somebody will dramatise it, with Atkins and May front and centre. If you see anyone looking for crowd funding for such a venture please let me know 😉

The older I get the more cover ups I see. And the eventual revealing of the cover up isn't what you want to see. But see it we must... Truth seems to have gone out of fashion...

Talking with a random chap wearing a t-shirt with a cannabis leaf motif on it and he reminded me of a quote I heard years ago. "If cannabis up until now had been undiscovered and someone found a plant in a remote location with its medical qualities they'd get a Nobel prize" But we criminalise it instead

DEA unsurprisingly seem desperate to cling to power, the world would be a better place if they were shut down completely. However as Upton Sinclair said - "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it" www.marijuanamoment.net/schumer-booker-and-other-senators-push-dea-to-promptly-finalize-marijuana-rescheduling/?“Marijuana prohibition has denied scores of Americans from benefiting from the drug’s accepted medical uses and resulted in criminal enforcement that has harmed communities around the nation. Criminal enforcement has contributed to our country’s exorbitant incarceration rates, racial disparities in policing, and immense pain and loss in communities hardest hit by punitive marijuana policies. This is true especially for low-income communities and people of color. From 2010-2018, marijuana related arrests reached 6.1 million, with 700,000 in 2018 alone.”

Ely after doubling his dose. Remember my ex complaining that I was staring at her on a holiday in France years ago after her and a friend had picked up some decent hash. We were in a tent, there wasn't that many things to look at 😃
