A terrible thing happened on Wednesday when an innocent man was shot to death and for no reason in a tunnel, when he and his son were on their way to the swimming pool practise. He might have said something to them, but the investigation is far from done and the police haven't caught the gang criminal/s. Not that much info yet. R.i.p man!🕯️ It's the #1 discussion topic here now. In tv interviews, on the radio, at work, even on the bus yesterday. And the reaction among the Swedes is VERY clear and goes in one direction. Get the drug users out. Their argument for this is: this would never had happened if there were no drug users here, since then there had not been any gangs of that sort. Alcohol seems to be a completely different story so you can't blame alcohol they say, since it can be bought at a special store controlled by the state. The gangs have no control of alcohol. You don't see them deal with alcohol, do you. The police neither.. But the drugs are controlled by the gangs, so get them out, all the users and all gang members. Interesting logic thoughts? Both the people here and the government and most of the former government parties seem to share these thoughts now, the hate has definitely grown! The former Prime Minister said on prime time National TV last time something tragic like this happened "it's you people who gets a party drug at the weekend who are to blame for this murder!". That time it was a gang member's wife who got shot. This time it was a person who had no relation whatsoever with them, so no wonder it's a very unpleasant and even worse mode here now. You can almost touch it in the air. It won't take long until a poor heroine addict or something is beaten to death in the city center. However, it won't be first side stuff. As a result the government's largest party got a bit higher amount of votes now. The choice of words is similar to the Sweden Democrats though, so they simultaneously decreased a bit , but not as much. Do you buy into it too? No. I don't believe in hate. Yesterday evening my neighbour tried to push me up against the wall outdoors, together with two men. Just for fun though, but he didn't have any chance anyway ... It was as a result of the new visitation zones just coming here now, no doubt, originally an idea from the right wing AFS, to the right of the Sweden Democrats. As I said, I feel a difference ... It's very clear. I wonder what will come next. A civil war?

I would abstain from voting, as I have no idea what the medical expertise thinks in the field.

What do you think about the proposed smoking ban Ely? I do realise the difference in health outcomes, but it is also seen as " banning a drug"

I do realise the difference in health outcomes, but it is also seen as " banning a drug" Don't really agree with it but it makes a lot more sense than the current illegality of some other drugs. Apart from anything else I think they'll have a lot of difficulty enforcing it successfully.

They'll do well to get it done that quickly, even if they do recruit (previously?) reluctant republicans - www.marijuanamoment.net/schumer-and-other-democrats-amplify-calls-for-marijuana-reform-ahead-of-4-20-which-congressman-says-should-be-celebrated-every-day/?"I want you to hear what my message is. I’m gonna say one word: Deschedule,” he said. “Descheduling ought to be a Republican dream… Sometimes I think they’re only for states’ rights if they think the state is right.” I'm often somewhat bemused as to why it seems to me to be predominantly those with political leanings to the right (and quite often the religious) that have the biggest problem with legalising cannabis. I just can't work out why. Is it fear of loss of control? Conditioning by certain media publications? Genuinely wanting to protect people from themselves and thinking, erroneously, that it's the best option? Maybe it's just my perception 🤔

"Our drug laws create more problems than they solve" "Our drug laws are unjust" Spot on Bish 👍👏 I think our Swedish Prime Minister would have liked this guy a lot, since he also says Sweden's drug prohibition policy is based on seeing it as a health issue - just like this Canessa guy does.

Drug prohibition is a massive health issue, well over 4,000 will die in the UK this year directly because of it, like last year, the year before that etc..

Never worn a watch in my life Seriously? 🤔🤔🤔 Ok, for full disclosure I got one for my birthday when I was about 7 or 8, wore it to school for a couple of days and hated it, never wore it again. Then my Grandad left me his watch when he died and I wore it a couple of times for functions etc. when the dress code was formal. Never missed not having one on my wrist in the slightest and nowadays everyone carries a phone anyway 🙂

I saw the loooong list of parties candidating this time. Hopefully they will get their small tents upp here so I can ask them in person about their politics.

The only bits I know about politics in Sweden is what I've seen from you and from that it seems the religious have far too much influence. I don't trust anyone that thinks I should live my life in a certain way because their imaginary friend in the sky (who only them and their mates can speak to) says so, that would be mental 🤷🏻

From what I've read ao far about the coming EU election here in early June, there were loads of new parties (several hundreds actually!) and I noticed many of them were nationalist. I also noticed there were some more extreme religious parties (apart from our government party The Christ Democrats where you don't even have to believe to become a member.)
