He's probably prefer to retire than have to play in the Championship. He doesn't strike me as the type who'd be up for anything like that once his career has peaked and he's on the long downslope.
He's in the making lots of money in the sun stage of semi-retirement
You'd think Begovic would move into that kind of area like MLS too, but you never know.

I have a feeling that Steven 'Transfer request every 1st June' Nzonzi won't be coming back.

What a fabulous footballer he was/is. I could weep when you think of him in our midfield compared to the shit we’ve had to endure since he left.

Successful re-signings would include Alan Hudson, who at 32 inspired us on an incredible run of 33 points from 17 games, to avoid relegation on the last day of the season.
And also Mickey Thomas at 35, who went on to win our Player of the Season award the next year.
After the Thomas signing announcement, I can still remember my family debating before the next kickoff, who we had actually signed.
It seemed impossible it could be the same Mickey Thomas as before, who seemed to belong to a completely different era, and surely would have retired years ago.
Some people offered that we might have signed Michael Thomas, the Arsenal player, whereas others thought it must be a different player altogether, who just happened to have the same name as the famous players.
Our confusion wasn't helped when a little bald bloke then ran out of the tunnel, who looked like no one we'd ever seen before.
When the game kicked off though, and we saw him buzzing about like a busy little bee, we knew it was good old Mickey T!

Wasn't N'Zonzi the lad with the pushy family agents, who convinced him he could "do better"?

That 4-1 away win at Villa always springs to mind when I hear Nzonzi's name mentioned. Ran the show entirely that day and made it look effortless. Admittedly, it was against a Villa side that was heading in a downward direction but they did score first that day and were still a couple of years away from the dross that got relegated with 17 points. Heady days.

I wasn't there, the missus had booked a week in Cornwall with some non-footballing friends and I remember having to do a double take at the score in the paper the next morning!

Wasn't N'Zonzi the lad with the pushy family agents, who convinced him he could "do better"? He was far too good for us. If he was my family member and taking the bias out of it, I’d be saying what the hell are you doing at Stoke. He’d of been perfect for Arsenal if he went to there from us.

Thought he was even better in the Spurs win a few games before I agree. He was absolutely superb in that game vs Spurs. The team as a whole impressed in the 6-1 vs Liverpool with a special mention for Douff and Whelan.

Wasn't N'Zonzi the lad with the pushy family agents, who convinced him he could "do better"? Well, they weren’t wrong. He’s gone on to have a wonderful career. I don’t see why he would want to come back. We were a stepping stone. I don’t think we could afford his wages either.

Some players that get a medal hardly play. He came on as a second half sub. Does the same apply to Vincent pericard who once played for Juventus?

Does the same apply to Vincent pericard who once played for Juventus? He came on as a second half sub in a WC final when Croatia were still very much in the game. That’s slightly more important than a team blooding a youngster. He also left us and won the Europa League in his first season. Oh, he was in the Europa League squad of the season as well, so I assume that he contributed a lot to that campaign.

I can’t imagine he’d want to play in the Champo, especially for a bottom half team.
