Watched a car explode outside last summer (well it went bang and flames and smoke came out the back. The guy in it just sat there on his phone while everyone crowded around. There are some genuinely homeless around there but like you say, plenty of “dusters” shouting at traffic

Must admit the walk upto Hanley from the station makes Croydon look safe👀

I mean if even a few could be tempted to Stoke it’d be e great start

That platform 3 train from Stoke via Kidsgrove to Manchester is the most Chav heavy public transport in the country (experts have said).

Back on track. Can somebody tell me what the negative is about these projects? I’ve hated the way Stoke has gone for ages (at least 10 years or more). I don’t care who does it but it makes me positive about the city and what could go on here

Greyhound is the sweatiest pub in Staffordshire. No matter what time of year you visit, that pub smells EXACTLY like my ballbag after I've played 5-aside. Plus, the bloke who runs it* is a right miserable cunt. *the pub, not my ballbag. I run my ballbag.

Once they get the go ahead they check in a retrospective application for COU.

I don’t care who does it but it makes me positive about the city and what could go on here The amount of money being taken out of the city. The Stoke pound isn't being recycled by the developer, it's disappearing up the M6. The Newcastle library redevelopment was a local company but the Goods Yard is a whole other deal by comparison. There's no one I know of in the city that could achieve it. Just the price you have to pay I guess.

The fact these have come in and actually done something is something that should be celebrated. Otherwise what’s the alternative?

Otherwise what’s the alternative? My hope is they see value in the area that other developers don't. I don't agree with the sycophancy shown them by the previous council leadership but they're gone now. I'd like to see Spode grow far more organically though and local people get the opportunity to develop and build it. The money they're taking out of it Capital & Centric you'd hope Capital & Centric would be providing CSR along those lines but why would they. You'll have to excuse my negativity around this sort of stuff. My judgement on the ability to deliver in this city is somewhat clouded by burying £19m in the ground and walking away from it with zero consequence. If we had a decent local media they'd be all over it and grilling the local politicians continually but Reach have put paid to that.

Still I understand your previous in this type of project and don’t blame you. What I like about this project is their timings and doing what they say they’re doing. It’s impressive to me. Maybe I’m just getting starry eyed but it’s the best project in our area I e seen for a very long time and I just want it to be a success
