Blocks Sidibe, wouldn't bother with this one. I'm conflicted. Sidibe is the most "ready" of all our U21 players, but at the same time he's only 17. A year out on loan will still do him good, especially if Schumacher thinks our midfield depth is going to be too much for him to get regular game time. Can’t be loaned out until he’s 18 I think. |

I can’t see a world where we get Cundle and Moran. And of the 2 I think I’d prefer Cundle.
But a roster of the below for 3 spots is just too much. Even getting rid of Johnson. Schumacher does seem to like the look of Laurent. I suppose there’s a world where Lawal isn’t ready for first team starter.

We thought that about Whelan but failed to replace him on several occasions with supposedly "Better" players. Just because Thompson doesn't play hollywood passes, run with the ball or do fancy tricks doesn't mean he's shit. He holds shape, covers, tracks back and performs all of the defensive midfield tasks very well. The same can't be said for Laurent, Baker, Sidibe or Burger (although i think Burger and Sidibe will improve at it). |

Players play to instructions I’m absolutely sure if they were instructed to play the role in that bland manner they’re all more than capable of following that instruction and indeed have done so at previous clubs. Well that was fun. I clicked on the Andrew Moran thread and read through the "current page" to hopefully get an update. Do you know, there's not a mention of Moran to be seen. Cundle yes. Thompson yes. But Moran No. I'll be glad when the window is shut and we can go back to reading about Pearson's disciplinary record or summat.

A coach can either leave the role upto the player to interpret or set their expectations clearly. What you can’t do is hope to benefit from a players extra ability to influence the game more in an attacking sense then complain when the defensive side has the odd set back. All the players named can do what Thommo does and better if that’s what they’re instructed to do. I just don’t get this having to let a player do what they want. If you want Joe Allen to sit you instruct him to sit, it’s really simple the player has shown he can and will do so on numerous occasions. I’ve used Joe Allen because posters might not have seen the likes of Burger and Laurent do it elsewhere but probably will have seen Allen do it for Wales. The managers simply didn’t have to allow him to go charging around all over the pitch to little effect. |

Bosun might be, but he seems to travel with the ball well. Sidibe seems to be able do a lot. Potentially could be a 6. As it stands unless Bosun plays there. Thompson will start every game.
