So is the Cundle move definitely dead? What happened there? Wolves wanted 6m for him! Thought it was 4M they wanted. We offered 500K, which we denyed later and said that it was more than 500k. My guess is that our offer was 1,5M. |

I still think Cundle will sign later in the window. I think you may be onto something in that I think Schumacher would like one defensive midfielder like Lawal/ Thompson and then two 8’s like Moran and Cundle ahead of them. Should Moran get injured there’s no-one else quite like him in the squad and Cundle would fill that role. Unlike his predecessors O’Neil and Neil I think Schumacher correctly understands that creating overloads is a huge part of football so having two 8’s that are prepared to break the lines and cause trouble is hugely beneficial. |

Moran will be instead of Cundle. Real focus must be on bringing in a striker in the next 2 weeks now.

Jack Clarke had 29 games in the Championship to his name before the 14 he played at our place. Irregardless he clearly wasn’t up to speed with Championship football prior to joining us due to combination of not getting anywhere near Spurs side and an injury. He’s gone on to show he’s much better with Sunderland. Same principle still applies with Moran. Jack Clark started his career at Leeds where he was so good in the Championship that Spurs paid £10 million for him and loaned him back to Leeds, then to QPR only playing 7 games in total that season before joining Stoke the following January and getting far more game time but having his season ended by injury. He finally found his feet again on loan at Sunderland in League 1 the following season. I think it harsh to blame Stoke on this one. He was an example of a young player who got a big move too soon after an impressive start to his career and a cautionary tale about expecting too much from young players. |

It always used to drive me nuts, as an Irishman, to hear Kevin's surname pronounced as MORE ANNE, with the emphasis on the second syllable. It's an Irish surname, so we know how to pronounce it properly; it's MORE AN; emphasis on the first syllable. The same will apply to Andrew; trust me!! It was the same with Mark Kinsella |

Cundle and Moran are a different type to what we have. More genuine AM’s than the box to box types we keep playing there who don’t look suited to playing further up field. Most would play one of each type but you never know with Schu’s High Risk/High Reward ethos. |

Maybe I’m wrong in thinking he means players you’d associate with producing output. I don’t really associate the likes of Laurent or Burger with that and doubt Lawal would produce any more than them at the higher level. It’s something I’d associate more with genuine AM’s. He’ll call anyone an 8 even when they’ve got completely different attributes. |
