Pretty sure a free agent will rock up here during the international break😉

I'd rate it as a solid 8 overall. We were a centre half and a left back away from a perfect 10. It's a whole load better than I feared back in June/July and a whole load better than what we've done for a long, LONG time.
The club deserve huge praise for what was potentially a very tricky rebuild against a backdrop of implementing a new, modern way of recruiting. It has worked out very well but could have very easily gone wrong
Now it's over to the coaching team.

Great window, one more center half would have nailed it, also Rose is Scottish 🏴

Part of me now expects Tuanzebe to rock up during the international break. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we try and make the deal work out favourably, on a financial aspect. I also wouldn't be mad if Ayala showed up either, or if we tried to go balls deep for Phil Jones, if there were ever a chance (personally think he'll rock up at a prem club). Issue is all three of those are right sided.

Sky only care about the biggest numbers. So £200M and £1.5M a week is a wankfest. The football is irrelevant. Exactly this!!! I don't listen to any punditry or watch SSN anymore. As you say It's just a wankfest of the money there big 7 spend. It's appalling The EFL are irrelevant to Sky these days. I remember transfer deadline when we were in the Premier and although it focused on the Premier there were still updates on the rest of the pyramid and the vide printer at the bottom of the screen showing transfers as they were announced. Last night having put my phone away it was impossible to find out if Stoke had completed any transfers on SSN. I also thought the media might make a bit more about the transfer window we've just had, but not a mention. BBC are no better. We hear more about Scotland, Italy, Spain etc than we do about the EFL. Try finding a story on the BBC about Stoke - even if we think it's quite a big story you have to go into sport-football then scroll right down to the bottom of the page to find Championship, then if you are lucky you might find a very short story just quoting the facts : eg Stoke have signed South Korean Bae Junho for an undisclosed fee. He becomes their fifteenth signing.

Thanks Fraser, nice to be noticed Seems a bit of a lazy / obvious prediction though, tbf. When was the last time all 3 promoted clubs were relegated straight back down the following season, and two relegated clubs bounced straight back up? Seems like it rarely, if ever, happens. EDIT: We're currently at 10s with BetVictor for promotion. At 33s with a few to be Champions!

I’d be very surprised if Burnley looked remotely in danger, I’d be less surprised if they finished top half than bottom 3. As for Southampton and Leicester, those squads are still PL quality. The only thing I think stops that happening is Russell Martin making a hash of it.

Leicester seem to have got their act together pretty quickly enough, although I can't say Cardiff, Rotherham and Huddersfield have been particularly stern tests. No doubt they'll have blips, but they seem to have navigated these early few weeks and potential banana skins really well. Annoyingly.

He’d read a lovely audiobook but not a big fan of him as a manager really. Leicester still haven’t looked entirely that convincing in the wins so far for me. Maresca being Pep’s coach must be worth a hell of a lot though, it certainly gives him pedigree and a serious apprenticeship in football management. The quality of that squad will just carry them through the blips and I can see them running away with it.

In my 70 odd years of supporting the Potters, I've never known such a crazy close season melee of signings. It almost beggars belief. Now all we need to do is get AN to gel them together and this has potential to be a promotion winning team. But as always with Stoke... you can never be sure of anything. COYMP!

A 9 for the recruitment team, some clever signings and some pragmatic ones. To get so many across the line has been mind boggling!
I’m generally excited by what has happened and many of the signings. It would have been 10 if we’d got that other CB in, not too bothered about another striker not coming in as I think we have goals all over the team but just watching Archer for Sheffield Utd shows what we might be lacking, we will have to see, there’s always January.

What a fucking mental few months - from pure panic about what we had at the start of pre-season and bringing 32-year-old Enda Stevens in on a free, to unrecognisable excitement with what appears to be a young and exciting squad. Inevitably, there are still gaps that need filling but we got the bulk of it done. You'd imagine a CB is a must (I'd snap Cathcart up, no bother). I think we can get through with our forward options as long as we continue to score goals in other areas of the pitch. Hopefully they gel quickly. I would have liked to have seen Nathan Lowe get a loan move but good to see some of the others get what appear to be decent loans. Not sire if there's still the possibility of some more going out on loan? Lowe can still get a move to the non league - there is no transfer window and the length of loans can be as short as one month and then extended if they go well. I would have thought this would be our best plan of action for young players. Find a local non league team and they can still come into Stoke for training occasionally to keep them in the loop. Non league training tends to be in an evening as the semi pros have other jobs during the day. Nantwich town would be perfect

Is Vidigal expected to be back for the next game? If we have a fully fit squad I want to see this team: ........................Travers....................... Junior...........Rose...........Wilmot.........Stevens ............Pearson..............Burger............... .........................Bae.......................... Gooch..................Wesley..................Vidigal Subs: McNally, Hoever, Leris, Thompson, Laurent, Johnson, Saed, Campbell, Mmaee. Competition is good, but it needs to be real!

Could be right footed and 34. Tuanzebe if he doesn’t fancy Ipswich as probably lives Cheshire way? Foreign player? Hmmmm Jones?

If we can get Tuanzebe in on the right deal we should do it providing we can get him fit again. We wouldn’t necessarily need him straight away so could allow him to get up to match fitness. If Phil Jones could prove his fitness and desire to want to play football again I’d take him here too

If Phil Jones could prove his fitness and desire to want to play football again I’d take him here too I’d rather we got someone in that was fit and ready to go than someone who’s likely to be sidelined for most the season. Cathcart or Ayala would be my choice. I’d also push the boat out for Onumah if we can fit him in.

And he'll have to go straight into that defence. I've no faith at all in any of our existing centre backs, none of them are good enough
