Thought he was more than adequate last night .
Could have challenged Gallagher better for their 2nd ( which Bonham should have saved anyway) otherwise I thought he was fine.

I’ve gone from wanting him gone ASAP to not being bothered if he gets another contract.
He’s average but his versatility might be enough for Neil want to keep him around as a squad player.

I thought by & large he was excellent last night. Considering the CB pairing was a new one and hadn't played together before, was quite impressive.

I'd certainly keep him as back up for left back and central defence! I'd rather see us sell Tymon as he doesn't fit in with a system where we play 4 at the back. Hopefully we can keep Sterling or Hoever too!

He’s so much better as a centre back in a 4 than a left centre back in a 3.

He had another decent game last night. I think he’s been one of the most consistent players all year,
I was impressed by his passion towards the end when he gave Smallpiece and Brown a bollocking for going towards goal and loosing the ball instead of taking it to the corner.

Yet another player who has improved under AN’s leadership.

I've never understood the criticism of Fox. I think he's a very dependable defender and rarely lets us down.
If we want to kick on he shouldn't be a regular starter but he's definitely a good squad player who can cover a couple of positions.

He was very good until he came under pressure in the last 10 minutes, then he really struggled.
Without Pearson, Thompson especially, allowed our CB to be exposed to pressure that was not there in the first 80 mins and then he struggled a bit.
His distribution was so much better, but this happens when players like Fox play with other much better players

His distribution was so much better, but this happens when players like Fox play with other much better players Often, he was able to just simply pass a ball to one of three midfielders who came to collect. Shocking that players who aren’t good on the ball can do better when the midfield open themselves up for the pass 😂 We need to keep him, he’s a great squad player who seems to have overcome his injuries.

Overall I like Fox but he will be on biggish wages and we can do better.

Overall I like Fox but he will be on biggish wages and we can do better. His contract is up in the summer so it depends what the new offer will be. I'm not sure Fox will get a better contract elsewhere even on reduced terms from Stoke.

If he doesn't get a new contract here, the best offer he will get is a league 1 / championship relegation fighting team, which is exactly where his ability should be.
If we want to move forward and seriously challenge at the top then him, Brown and Bonham need to be moved on this summer

Pretty difficult that some of them are so useless at you know playing football. Particularly ones like Fox who don't seem to have any compensating attributes. He's not actually that great at any aspect of the game. He's just about adequate defensively, given years of practice and coaching I'd expect something better for a few thousand a week.

Fox is an average Championship defender, nothing great, not an exceptional left back but better than Tymon, not a wing back but I hope the wing back system has been thrown on the scrap heap anyway, and adequate cover in the centre of defence. Worth keeping hold of IMO Gouranga.

You should probably get over that, it’s not going anywhere.

No it's that to anything like justify the money they ought to be an awful lot better at what they do. We have a few players who struggle with controlling the ball and direction and weight of passing and folk make excuses for them because they make the odd block or header or run about a lot. Brown is the same unbelievably bad at basic football skills.

Brown is the same unbelievably bad at basic football skills. Yet he’s an effective footballer that scored 14 last season. Goals that kept us up. You need defenders whose first instinct is to get in front of a ball just as much as you need those who want to get up a pitch. Defenders who have both work in the Premier League and earn (at least) 10x more. A good example is Tuanzebe. Not exactly Zidane on the ball but better at both defending and passing than Fox. Oh, and he’s on £50k a week.

Fox shouldn’t be starting but is more than ample cover.
We’ve had ten times worse than Fox down here in the last decade.

Doing a good job for us at the moment and is underrated by most - not sure about him as a central defender though in a back four. Shocking that we can't find 2 natural central defenders when we have just come out of window - the second goal would not have happened if we had a proper central defender in that position and could have cost us - and probably will in the coming weeks against the better teams

Am I seriously reading that we, as fans of Stoke City, think that this absolute pile of horse shit is a decent football player ,and indeed, may be a candidate for player of the season....???? Along with Thick Ben,Fat Jags and Brown,Fox shouldnt be anywhere near a starting 11.....I know there aren't any alternatives for Jags til Taylor is fit, but to see him waddling around, bereft of pace and and short of breath is, quite frankly, fucking embarrassing. Yes absolutely, this shows how far we have fallen in recent seasons. You sound like a knowledgeable person.
