Why are you referencing the worst transfer in football history? Was Wimmer worth that? In fact was he even worthy of a fee? Are Leicester as stupid as us? Is Souttar’s career to date as good as Wimmers was when we signed him? I would argue it wasn’t. We paid way too much obviously but he did ok for Spurs in the PL.

I remember at the time looking, he had hardly played in 2 years. Like 8-10 league games I’m sure They could not wait to find someone daft enough to Chuck top dollar at them.

He'd only played about five games for Spurs. It was an insane valuation on our part. Edit: Just checked. He made 15 appearances over 3 seasons.

At least spell his name right…… There have been previous attempts on here to compile an entire team with typographically errant names. My personal favourite is Palacious. So I welcome this addition, which stiffens the defensive line.

Got to take £15k haven’t we?
Maybe try for a couple million more but that’s a fair price given our circumstances.

We spent £18M on a lump of lard who was supposed to be a centre half. Unfortunately, he couldn't defend, couldn't jump, couldn't tackle & couldn't head or generally do what a centre half is supposed to do....£18M that Mark Hughes having been locked in talks with the Chairman, giving the hard sell in order to persuade him to part with £18M was responsible for along with the chairman who sanctioned it.....In short we should be asking 36M for Souttar 5/6 years on and in today's money Denis Smith would be worth £180M!!!!

We may well have no choice, but a deal package of around £20m would make me happy. If it includes Iverson then Souttar is around £15m, or if it’s just cash and appearances for him alone it’s £20m. Anything under £15m and I’d feel we got a very bad deal. I guess somewhere £17m+ could be the compromise.
It’s hard when you look at the track record of our transfers to think we will come out of it happy though 😞

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, kept him out of that Spurs team, Just last year they competed in the World Cup finals for Belgium who were rated in the top 3 countries in the world. I think bayern is right even if we did overpay.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/64342915Stoke's Souttar a wanted manSimon Stone BBC Sport Leicester are leading the chase to sign Stoke defender Harry Souttar. However, there are other clubs interested in the Scottish-born Australia international. Souttar was born in Aberdeen but chose to play internationally for the country of his mother's birth and impressed during the World Cup in Qatar. It is anticipated the 24-year-old will leave Stoke for the Premier League during the current transfer window.
Leicester are the favourites and have lodged their interest but West Ham are also looking for a central defender as Craig Dawson is about to leave for Wolves.

Am I the only one who thinks that selling Souttar now is a very dangerous thing to do with us being in a relegation battle?

Just think that selling him now leaves league 1 looming even larger cos we ain’t gonna get a like for like replacement of his ability, he’s 1 of very few competent players that we’ve got. Surely keeping hold of him until the summer and trying to secure safety in this league instead of slipping into league 1 would make more sense than getting rid now?
