We have no money so what’s the plan with that scouting mission Didn't we get a useful amount for Bursik? Who knows how much we got??

Weren't Posh looking for £7-8m for Clarke-Harris last season? I really struggle to see how we can afford him. He's on the last year and half of his deal I think but I just struggle to see how we afford him. I can't see the Bursik fee being enough to cover any decent amount of the transfer fee he'd cost?
Even if it was JCH we looked at on that as well, which personally I can't see.

Could it be someone from Vale?
Genuinely don't know if they've got any who might be worth a punt.
Forrester? 😂😂😂

Or they don’t and they establish themselves like Palace Nine seasons in the top flight with no top 10 finishes which isn't as good as our run. After a 0–1 away defeat in the first match at Liverpool (SJW missed pen), the first home match of Mark Hughes era was a 2-1 win against newly promoted Palace. It was our 6th season in the PL. The last match of our 10 years in the PL was a home defeat against Palace. They finished 11 points clear of Stoke that season, despite losing their first 7 games without scoring a single goal! Five years on they’re still there. In all their previous four stints in PL, they’ve had four immediate relegations.

At the weekend, he seemed to be in a No 10 hole all by himself rather than as an out-and-out attacking midfielder, and he's a lost lamb in that kind of position. I agree though he'd have been better further back in Baker's position as a box-to-box DM, but Neil seems to prefer Baker there. Interestingly, even though Baker was further back he had slightly more touches in the attacking third than Laurent did. I just don't think Laurent will get a chance in DM because of Baker, and I don't think AN thinks they can play together as a double-act in holding midfield either. AN 100% moved Baker further forward at HT > when we had the ball he pretty much at number 9 without the ball he dropped back suited him miles better, he linked up with Powell well, the play was in their half. Laurent & Thompson & to a lesser extent Baker first half were supposed to be providing a defensive screen which all 3 were woeful at & none contributed with the ball either plus 3 shocking set pieces from Baker & Thompson second half Thompson was playing DM and put in two great tackles, passed the ball well, Laurent was making box to box runs with the ball & we dominated the half, Blades had just two attacks of note that half, we were the better side, it was like we had 3 completely different players from HT If those 3 are playing together that has to be how they play, starting v Reading next week He hasnt mate tuanzebe was on loan at Napoli last season he’s back at United, was injured a couple of months ago but I think he’s fine now and dubravka is also back at newcaske so darlow is 3rd choice

My god it’s grim. No sign of a transfer, three losses on the bounce and a manager who in 4 months has had next to zero impact if not made us slightly worse. Only at Stoke It's not only at Stoke, loads of teams get in these downward spirals. Leeds and Sunderland not so long ago, Sheff Wednesday, Ipswich and many more. If we get out of it without going into league one we will have done well. Things change very quickly in football. Ten years from now today's golden boys Brentford and Brighton will probably be back in the lower leagues. A few bad decisions and it can go tits up very quickly. It goes wrong for everyone apart from the elite five or six teams eventually and even they have relatively baron patches. How do you explain Burnley? Are they on a different rotation than us on the made up circular thingy?

Are they on a different rotation than us on the made up circular thingy? Teams operate on different timelines. There are now 7 bulletproof teams in the PL and only incompetence is stopping West Ham (50k+ capacity stadium & London based) and Everton with the money they have spent joining this group. With 3 teams relegated, it is almost inevitable the other teams will drop down at some point as teams have to be rebuilt - this is where the cycle originated from. Southampton, Leicester and Palace are all at this point currently.. How clubs handle that shift is key - get it wrong and overspend and the risk of a downward spiral is high. Burnley have always been ready to be relegated and never really aspired to crack the elite. Stoke City’s demise can be traced to the attempt to run the club with less owner finance in the early part of the Hughes era. It seemed to work but we were letting the squad age and were exposed to a key player like Arnie leaving. Our response was to spend high in a short period which was a gamble that failed

When you think things couldn't get any worse someone always has the answer. You think AN is better eh? Better tell Everton and Leics.

Any team that invests close on £100 million in two seasons with next to no resale value on any of those players combined with their massive wages is going to find it difficult to bounce back quickly.

Clarke-Harris couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo when Peterborough were in the championship.
So no doubt he’s our number one target.
