I'd happily have no one previously associated with Stoke City working for the club again. At least, not just at the club because of an obsession over better days anyways. I have no problem with former players if they were equally as good as the next best option but had that little edge to it. Otherwise, no thanks.

I'm talking about first team matters specifically but if we're talking about the academy, do we think someone who's not associated to Stoke can do the same job? All I’m saying really is that I don’t give a monkeys whether an individual has had previous ties to the club or not. I’d prefer to consider the potential influence for improvement and the quality outcomes that may be delivered by the individual whoever their previous employers were. Perhaps I’m wrong This clamour for ex players to come back because they 'know the club' reminds me of when the Fail kept appointing their 90s legends as managers. They did nothing of note and the unwashed just turned on them

There are many examples of legends losing their status due to not being a great manager

Tiny club compared to us so how can they spend £27m and we can't afford a penny chew? We can afford it. We just aren't allowed. Just go to the corner shop surely.

Any chance of an incoming before Saturday? If we do it’ll be at 11:59am Friday. They’ll be eligible to play but they either won’t be fit to or will start on the bench.

We are not poorly run. Talk to Everton, West Brom, Derby and Notts Co fans. We are not well run. Talk to Brighton, Brentford, Forest, Boro fans. See, I can pick four teams that have nothing to do with our situation arbitrarily too 👍 Will you please stop this utter, utter garbage. All of the clubs you mention would swap owners with us in the blink of an eye.

Genuine question, can someone give a definitive answer as to when we are free of FFP and can actually look to recruit some decent players ?

Genuine question, can someone give a definitive answer as to when we are free of FFP and can actually look to recruit some decent players ? This summer so we are told so it is vital we don't get relegated. My question would be can we loan someone for the remainder of the season with a compulsory purchase agreed for next season so that it doesn't show on this year's accounts?

BREAKING: DERBY AND BIRMINGHAM JOIN HUGILL RACE Derby County, Birmingham City and Rotherham have joined Reading in the hunt to sign Norwich City striker Jordan Hugill, sources have told FOOTBALL INSIDER. The former West Ham man, 30, is well down the pecking order at the Canaries and they are open to January offers as he is out of contract in the summer. Stoke not mentioned in the Hugill hunt. So no idea who we're looking for on our apparently measly budget. Reckon him and Gayle would have given us a flicker of hope.

I would say normally new manager bounce for the Posh but can it really be called when you become the manager of Peterborough for the 87th time

I am getting quite desperate for some news. It's ridiculously quiet This. Bearing in mind how desperate we are for quality in so many areas of the pitch, the silence is somewhat worrying! We have half of the month left to make some magic happen. The clock is ticking ...

All of the clubs you mention would swap owners with us in the blink of an eye. Are we well run? A genuine question. We got ourselves needlessly relegated from the Premier League due to complacency in the transfer market (we stopped spending) and poor managerial decisions (not sacking Hughes and the appointing Lambert). We then wasted three years of parachute payments due to throwing as much money around as possible without any real strategy or thought. We lost £26 million last year. £56 million the year before that. Does that suggest to you that we are well run? Since relegation we have not even finished in the top half. There is nothing in the last 5-7 years that suggest that this club is anything other than poorly run.
