Only to people that couldn't see what he brought to the team. Must have been a lot of them. Don't ever recall anyone clamouring for his services. Whether you rated him or not, he was a vital part of that team and our success at that time. Exactly the type of ‘team’ player we have been missing for a while now.

Pretty sure I've heard that argument in defence of Gayle and Vokes. The lack of minutes is a reason not to sign him, isn't it? Strikers generally don't disappear in their late 20s and then suddenly come good at the same level in their 30s. www.ccmb.co.uk/showthread.php?454370-Hugill-Return/page2&s=288013a64daea377f363dcea2c6d5c4dCardiff fans were generally positive Fair point, but not sure there's definitive proof he's washed up though. He's just been starved of minutes. He's only 30. And he's never relied on pace in the way Gayle has. Of course the danger is if he's Vokes Mk II. But a loan 'til the end of the seaosn wouldn't break us in that way And the market we're fishing in for that type would be really shallow as can be seen with loads of Champ names being linked At this rate we’re gonna have 15 loans and only 5 in the match day squad. What we gonna do? Winner stays on?

Unless I've missed something, all of this Jordan Hugill talk has come from ... Reading bidding for him.

Unless I've missed something, all of this Jordan Hugill talk has come from ... Reading bidding for him. Yeah, and the probability of Delap going. Just chucking a name out there who's been successful under Neil who ticks the realistic, cheap, experienced replacement boxes. As Alex would say "Dyu know what I mean?"

Jordan Hugill? Interesting. He’s just a journey man who doesn’t score much 🤷♂️

Yeah, sure. And also in his favor is this quote from Daniel Farke: "Hugill was a key player for me... I don't just rate a player because of his minutes and his impact on the pitch. You don’t win a title or promotion just as 11 players. A leader in our dressing room and one of the main topics why we were promoted". Leader up top + Target man who can hold ball link up play and get the best out of Ty, Gayle + Brown = Hugill Leader/captain at the back = Bentley Leader in the middle/defence mid = ? Pearson ? feels like almost a plan coming together It’s all about building a team.

Fuller PNE, Portsmouth, Southampton, Stoke. Sidibie Gillingham, Stoke. I think that might provide evidence that Fuller's ability was more widely recognised and sought at a higher level than Mama. Who would have been lucky to have played higher than League One if Pulis didn't have a hard on for him.

Hugill scored 4 in 36 for Norwich, 1 in 20 on loan at WBA and 4 in 18 on loan at Cardiff. Hardly a striker that "carries a goal threat". As a link up player, he might be something we need, but I remember being pretty annoyed with how few Fletcher scored (12 in 72). If he can create chances for others it hopefully won't matter how many he scores, very different I know but Sidibe didn't score all that many, it's what else he may bring to the side, maybe it'll add some sort of ballance to the forward options. But who is going to score all these chances?
