Blimey, I don't think I've ever seen so many straw men in a single post! Signs of Narcissism: Grandiose Sense of Self-Importance Narcissists often have an exaggerated sense of their abilities and achievements. They may boast about real or imagined accomplishments and expect to be recognised as superior without corresponding achievements. Preoccupation with Fantasies of Success They frequently indulge in fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty, or perfect love. These fantasies protect them from feelings of inner emptiness or vulnerability. Belief That They Are Special and Unique Narcissists believe that they are special and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people or institutions. Need for Excessive Admiration Their excessive need for admiration and attention is often one of the easiest signs to spot. They seek constant validation and approval from others. Sense of Entitlement They expect favourable treatment as their due. They may become impatient or angry when they do not receive special treatment. Lack of Empathy They have difficulty recognising or identifying with the feelings and needs of others. This often results in shallow, superficial, and emotionally exploitative relationships. Envy of Others or Belief That Others Are Envious of Them They may openly envy others or believe that others are envious of them, a projection of their own competitive attitude. Arrogant, Haughty Behaviours or Attitudes They often display snobbish, disdainful, or patronising attitudes, which can make interactions with them challenging. Insistence on Having the Best of Everything For example, the best car, office, or house. They believe they deserve to have their high status reflected in all aspects of their lives. This was my post Cobs, FIFTEEN words specifically about the rhetoric of incitement from Laurence Fox .... "I wasn't sure whether to put this here or on the Met thread? What a prick."and yet, YOU have somehow managed to turn it into your post above. YOU are the one who attempted to escalate this with unfounded straw men and (despite my attempt to make light of it) YOU are the one, who has, whilst being completely unprovoked, attempted to make it personal. Maybe you might want to reflect on that, before accusing people of narcissism. Your posts are all there.

Anyway I’ll remove it now.

The irony of you using X to highlight your left wing views despite it being owned by Musk who you all apparently hate is funny to say the least. Every time you and the likes of Paul post something from X it does make me laugh. Fox is a bell end admittedly but at least he sticks to his values.

He likes to belittle people and look down on them but doesn't like it when he's challenged. He is a narcissist and a lot of people on here have felt that when talking to him.

So you're suggesting that when Musk purchased Twitter, then anybody who didn't agree with his personal views, should have immediately stopped using the platform? Seriously? 2. At least Fox, sticks to his values? What do you mean by "AT LEAST"? Hitler stuck to his values too, maybe it was a redeeming feature for him as well, eh?

What an absolutely ridiculous post. The irony. Sorry mate, I obviously didn't make myself clear. I am aware that Musk owns twitter and that I hate Musk. At the present time he doesn't own or control the people on it, meaning posters with contradictory views can still have their say and it's these people I quote. I'm kind of hoping this isn't too difficult for you to grasp.

If you use X then you're supporting Elon and his views. He controls the narrative.
If you continue to share tweets and spread misinformation then you're doing nothing but funding him.

Nobody will agree on everything and that's a good thing imo. I don't like the high horse attitude that certain people have when they don't agree with someone else that's all.

It appears that actually, there's only one person riding a 'high horse' here ... That’s fair enough but in the same respect they can’t be treated as gospel whenever they’re used as often they’re not factual. I’m no fan of mainstream media but they do have a little more substance at least. Of course people will use them to put an argument across but often you look at the source they’re a socialist, Marxist, far right agitator or bot so you can never treat them as being the truth. Far from it. When you have a twitterer that has extreme views you have to take them with a pinch of salt but some don’t because they want what they’re saying to be 100 percent fact. There’s some threads where 90 percent of the posts are twitter links or posts, surely the point is for people to think for themselves rather than promoting what someone else says. Of course we’re all guilty of it but some more than others.

Well you seemed to have a bit of problem when you first interjected this discussion. A discussion where the actual topic in hand hasn't actually developed one inch as a result of your 'high horse' manner. If you want to start a thread discussing whether posters feel that Twitter links are of any value to threads, then be my guest but obviously the 'London', 'Stabbings' and 'Today in Clown World' threads will all be at threat if we decide to stop using them ... Oh Paul do you not see that because you’re so judgemental it’s just a cheeky dig back. I’ve said it before I’m a hypocrite but then we all are. I don’t need someone to tell me that I don’t have any self awareness (I’m not the only one), maybe I know that but care less than what I used to when I first started posting on here. Ultimately this is a message board and not the student union debating society, we’re all going to get people we don’t agree with or rub us up the wrong way I guess that’s why they have the block button if we get wound up to much. So to summarise. You’re right I don’t have any self awareness but my blood pressures a lot lower than it used to be I’m also aware I won’t be getting on the MENSA invite any time soon but I’ve never pretended to be an expert on every subject under the sun. Anyway rather than get into a long drawn out debate I’ll leave it at that.
