Neil needs to find his best striker formation sharpish. Our season won’t be defined by this game. If anything, we played really well, showing good form just poor finishing. Just a blip tonight Agree. Really think we should start the next game with the same formation as tonight but with Gayle and brown up top and Powell just behind. Gayle seemed to be deeper today in a sort of number 10 role. Really think brown and Gayle would complement each other |

Fucking criminal that we had to defend a corner while our centre half was effectively sin-binned for the crime of being twatted in the head It's a ridiculous rule. Surely context should be applied. You know when someone is feigning injury. He had blood pouring out of his bonce ffs. |

Sixty year have passed since my first Stoke game. A Stoke supporter all my life. Nothing has ever changed in that time. They break your heart every year! They build your hopes up and then knock you down. Two great wins against good teams then they lose,at home,against an awful team. It will never change! That’s why I bet on Rotherham. We’d won 2 on the spin. They hadn’t scored an away goal in 5 hours, let alone win a game. It was bound to happen we’d lose. What happens Saturday, I genuinely don’t know. How much did you win? |

Poor.. totally in control but unable to score.. I'll write it again POOR!! How the fuck Is that poor we controlled the game they got lucky we just didn't get the luck wasn't poor at all Should've scored with that much possession and some of the chances we created.. that's how it's poor ffs. |

One more observation- DELAP IS NOT A STARTING STRIKER. He was easy and predictable for their central defenders, they just relish a scrap. I actually frowned when I saw him on the pitch. Once we took him off the movement was considerably better in my opinion. I agree re Delap. He makes it too easy to lump the ball up too. Thought he did OK tonight but think we look better with Gayle, Fosu and Campbell. On Saturday I’d bring in Powell for Delap as our only change. Thought Thompson did really well when he came on and may be worth considering if Baker needs a rest. |

That ref is a cheating bastard. Not incompetent but a cheat. He has definitely got something against us. Never ever seen a ref get in the way of play and literally block passes so much as him tonight. And every time it was when we had the ball. He made sure he got in the way as well. A few times Laurent and Baker had to take another touch to open up the space to pass it round him. If we had equalised I’d expect him to be in the 6 yard box for their next corner trying to get an important touch on it. |

All teams have games like that, the application & intensity was there, just not the end product. I still think at present we are a better away team than at home..It will come given time under Neil.

No questioning the effort, but yes, they misfired. Critical comments? Sorry, I think Bursik just flapped at the goal. He should have at least made contact. Laurent was ineffective and needed subbing at half time. I like Neill's willingness to switch things (refreshing after his predecessor) but he should have made the substitutions earlier. I thought it was a soft goal definately and should have been saved though it’s hard to say how late he saw it. I thought Laurent was decent. He’s not a spectacular player so does a lot of good work unnoticed. Baker looked tired for me. Thought both wingbacks were excellent. |

I agree he shouldn't be in our starting 11, but today he first should have had a man sent off for pulling him back in the first half, but the inept ref gave just a yellow of course! He also should have had a penalty when he was pulled back in the box, but again this joke of a ref let it pass without giving the obvious! I also really wonder why Jags didn't get a free kick before their goal? He was first on the ball and then there was a clash of heads, but the ref gave a corner and sent Jags off the pitch so we were down to 10 men for that corner!   |

That lad who head butted Jagielka was a weird one, he jumps up after smashing heads in that one but then goes down every other time when he’s jumped into someone’s body. He was always pretty quick to get back onto the pitch though, strange… |

Still scratching my head trying to understand how we lost that. I think they need to change the rules to stop time wasting. If you go off for treatment you shouldn’t be allowed back on the pitch until the ball goes out of play again. Maybe harsh on genuinely injured players but on balance it’s preferable to this faking nonsense

Especially when through on goal. His decision making was also poor and shot (poorly) countless times tonight when he could have squared it or played a clever ball to split the defence. |

May have been better to have simply put Powell in Smallbones place? Fitness might have been an issue for Powell. That said, we could be 2 nil up and take Powell off and impact sub Delap shores it up by bullying tired defenders. Hindsight eh? |

Not too disheartened by the loss, yes we should have showed better composure but we gave it a good go and were the better side. Rotherham probably wouldn’t have scored had Jagielka been on the pitch as well.
One to learn from, dust ourselves down and go again.

It was one of those games that you put down to the 'Stoke experience' and answers the question, why do so many Stokies expect the worst when we know we should win but never do? We should now be sitting in 8th position with a +5/6 goal difference with the chances we had, but instead, we're now in 15th place and -1. It's a funny old game.
