These sort of comments from QPR fans are typical, it all makes me think a bright new dawn may not be too far away Martin Shannon Give us a ref who books a player for fouling and we would've won. Can't fault the display. Stoke are truly not a football club. Get them to play rugby or teach Shithousery. Reply1d Dave King Martin Shannon Alex Neil isn’t interested in flowing football, he is interested in finding ways to frustrate and waste time. His Preston side were the masters at it and Stoke are only a couple of weeks into his tenure but they will soon be worse than they were today.

Well the QPR fan we spoke to on our way back to the station yesterday reckoned we're the best team to have played at Loftus Road this season.

That's good and possibly true but there is lots of this stuff about, you don't need to look too hard.
Puts one in mind of the early days of the second coming of TP, and that's the first good news we have had since we got relegated 5 years ago!

Every other team they've played at home has managed as many goals, at least, as we managed shots on target. It was our third worst performance statistically after Boro and Reading.

Out of interest, where was this forensic statistical analysis from you over the past couple of seasons? I've posted various stats at times over the last few seasons and had many discussions with tachyon too. This season I decided to keep a thread of the game per game stats. 4 points out of 6 away from home is a good turnover and I won't turn my nose up at it. But the QPR performance, particularly the second half, wasn't that great and we did well to leave with a point.

That assessment is what I thought of Sunderland after they beat us before the changing of the guard so to speak.. Frustrated me they took the 3pts that game but they came with a game plan, wasn't particularly pretty but it was damn effective and it succeeded. & that following a half time where Neil mixed it up abit and O'Neil didn't do anything! As others have said, it's kinda nice in a way & a back handed compliment that opposition fans are disliking us, afterall for the past 4 or so seasons we've been so charitable & where's that got us?! Abit of a ruthless streak never does teams any harm, perhaps The Coates have finally cracked it and identity Stoke City is coming back 🤔😉 !

In the mean time plenty of chocolate and rom-coms should help him get over Michael going.

Some fans are such whiny, bitchy no marks who can’t see any further than the end of their nose. If they are moaning, then good stuff……anything to help galvanise the players as I’m fed up of them being a push over.

A manager that actually calls out shit refs. I waited years for MON to grow some balls and call out these dodgy refs.

I think that we’d have lost that game under MoN

We seem to have a pattern of play now, and one which doesn’t avoid using the channels, and a desire to regain defensive shape on losing the ball. These are Pulisesque features we can all get behind, Shirley? I’m enjoying it anyway. As better players return we should be able to mix it up a bit.

I could not give a toss if Alex Neil is unpopular with opposition fans it shows that we are regaining some kind of identity back & not being the soft touch we had become under previous managers. It feels good to see we have grown some balls long may it continue.

I think AN is eventually going to be popular with Stoke fans .
The whole club as been too softly softly for years.
He is not TP ( thank goodness!) But like TP he is not going to stand for his players putting 90 per cent into a tackle or 50 per cent into a match.
We missed out on the 3 points literally because without VAR the ref missed out on a clear penalty .With VAR we would have most likely won .
I forget his exact quote ( it's on a 6 min you tube video labelled ...we can't just play for 45 mins) but AN's take was ...it's a clear penalty but I am not going to complain about only getting a point, because I have already said, QPR were the better side in the second half...we can't just play for45 mins ( and expect to win the game)
This is the sort of manager we need , not one to focus on the refs mistakes, but someone looking to correct the faults in his own team.
I think there is going to be more bringing his own players to task and less if the ref this and if the ref that from A N as opposed to MoN.
I think this is what the Stoke team and Stoke fans need , so what to the opinion of away fans , I think Stoke fans are going to warm to AN

I feel that this manager will get us promoted. If not this season probably next.
The players are looking hungrier and have a role they stick to, players who seemed substandard are looking competent. In January AN can tweak the squad accordingly.
If we are around top eight in January we may get play offs. Next season more money will be available and if not already promoted the signs are excellent for next season.
Don’t forget we have a manager who knows how to get promoted, with three promotions in 8 seasons in management.
Another flurry into the promised land beckons! 👍

All I want is to see my team play like they actually care about playing well. They are starting to do that again, so for the most part, I am happy.
QPR dropped to the floor every time there was a 50-50. It was reminiscent of watching Premier League football, without the quality on the other side of the coin.

Good, I'm glad when opposition fans, managers don't like us it means we're doing something right..
I think it was Sam alardyce said some years ago.. he doesn't want managers to say his team are a good team because it means they've probably just been beaten his team 3-0,
long may teams managers complain about stoke and the length of our grass, the toilets in the away dressing room or the size of our players...it probably means we've just beaten them 3-0.
