A young England goalkeeper who has had a 58% save percentage the last two seasons in a row. If this zander bloke was any good he wouldn't be at St Johnstone that's for sure. All the good players in Scottish football go celtic or rangers. Assuming that Rangers and Celtic have 2 goalkeepers each in their SPL squads, that means that, apart from those 4 keepers, all the others in Scotland are no good? All the good players in English football go to Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs or Man Utd. So any players not at these clubs can't be any good?

But he was the first keeper I can remember clearing the ball clean out of the stadium. It might have been his home debut, he thumped the ball clean over the top of the Butler Street Stand. I swear to god this is the honest truth... a really aren't joking... a mate of mine found that ball in the cut! Played loads of games with it up the Croft on Sundays.... white Mitre size 5 😊 Well the description is bang on, hard to argue against that

I was at the match and saw it sail over the Butler Street roof, and me mate found it pretty much where you'd expect it to be. Brand new, same as the one's in Bourne sports. Thought it might be like Billy's Boots and make me play like Terry Conroy.... but naaah....lol

Wow I am not worthy, haha. Oh! I forgot the legend that is Leroy Sibbles! Who if I really had to pick one, is probably my favourite. *googles Tony Levin* 😊 Edit: i just googled and.... I've seen him live! with Peter Gabriel at Trentham Gardens, in 77 I think. I love his bass playing, one of the things that really made that Peter Gabriel album for me. Bootsy Collins

So basically he's a Scottish keeper which is a worry because we had a couple of bad Scottish keepers decades ago He's also got a beard. That puts him in the Barry Siddal camp. Double disaster waiting to happen.

He looks like a rugby player to me, I think it's the free range beard, football players tend to favour more the carefully groomed but less manly night clubbing beard of which Viv Busby was an early proponent.
As a general rule I'd counsel against any beard, you get all sorts of rubbish stuck in there, mince pie at Xmas and god knows what else!

We should only sign him on the condition we can nickname him Billy after the legendary Fulchester United goalie.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-gossip-7274992Goalkeeper remains a conundrum to watch. Zander Clark has been in the Maldives on his honeymoon before he declares his next move away from St Johnstone as a free agent, having been one of the top-rated keepers in Scotland in recent years.
Joe Bursik and Jack Bonham shared the gloves in the second half of last season after Adam Davies's exit and most would suggest Stoke need a number one to hang their hat on this time around. Fielding has stayed and there's Blondy Nna Noukeu and Tommy Simkin coming through. A new arrival would seem like too many for one position.

Don't know anything about him but a 30year old goalkeeper from the Scottish league doesn't fill you with confidence. I would give this one a wide birth.

I would give this one a wide birth. 30 is peak age for a keeper and if he can stop a few shots going in he'll be an improvement on last season's incumbents. I know we've had a few rubbish Scottish keepers so perhaps we are due a good one.

The criticism of our keepers is tiresome. Watching matches, mistakes are made week after week by so-called top keepers. I don't know one who hasn't made obvious blunders, but our keepers are vilified constantly for , half the time, debatable errors.

Personally I was pretty impressed with Bonham, thought he did well albeit a couple of blunders but overall a decent showing

Thankfully it’s not just me I’ve never known a set of fans who want the goalkeeper replacing every two games

I'd be very surprised if Clark wasn't No.1 if he came.
It depends what you think of the metrics which do seem to show all three of our keepers ranged from distinctly average to poor, in terms of shot stopping last season

Neither Bursik or Bonham made many howlers but they just don't seem to keep much out and the stats back that up. Both have save percentages near the bottom of all the keepers who played a decent amount of games in this league (there's a chart somewhere on here).

A solid goalkeeper is essential for a promotion challenge. The 2 current keepers are not up to it. That’s the opinion of me and many others. Yet again - there’s some holier than thou belittling of others opinions on this thread. Bursik could come good- but he looks very shaky. Been thrown in too soon.
Bonham- didn’t do too badly in the end but looked shaky and conceded some poor goals.
Personally- neither inspire confidence. 100% a position that needs improving.

Our keepers get beaten way too easily by shots a better keeper would save. It may be 'tiresome' to want someone to do the job better but something we need to address.
