The criticism of our keepers is tiresome. Watching matches, mistakes are made week after week by so-called top keepers. I don't know one who hasn't made obvious blunders, but our keepers are vilified constantly for , half the time, debatable errors. Top keepers font make mistakes week in week out though. Our keepers get beaten way too easily by shots a better keeper would save. It may be 'tiresome' to want someone to do the job better but something we need to address. Agreed - providing that when you typed font you actually meant don't!

Clark wouldn’t be coming to sit on the bench Would that point to Bursik going then MC?

It seams over the past few years, that we concede far too often from the first shot on target, this seems to happen whoever was in Goal, so hopefully this new keeper Clark can buck this trend.

You'd think Clark in meant Bursik out - but hard to know where and for how much, especially if he's got 12 months left on his deal.
Watford were mentioned, but they've apparently spent £5m on a young 22yo from the Dutch league. So can't see the bench anywhere being what he's got in mind. He needs to play at his age.

Don't know anything about him but a 30year old goalkeeper from the Scottish league doesn't fill you with confidence. I would give this one a wide birth. You have just said you don't know anything about him but would give him a wide birth. At least let him play before you decide he's useless. never said he was useless but at 30 playing in scotland it does not fill you with confidence.

It's usually about the same or better than our standard and it's a decent idea to be shopping up there. An spl team just got to the Europa final and should have won it

I swear to god this is the honest truth... a really aren't joking... a mate of mine found that ball in the cut! Played loads of games with it up the Croft on Sundays.... white Mitre size 5 😊 Late 80s by any chance? Early seventies. So I'm guessing our ball wasn't the only one to have gone sailing over that Butler St roof! You shoulda gone look for it wherty

Let's not kid ourselves, The Championship is pretty lousy quality before we start pointing the finger at other leagues

It's not a bad league, but I think the Rangers run to the Euro final was a bit of a freak event. Their wage bill is top-end Championship -and there's only them and Celtic that really carry a Champ-level budget. Aberdeen have apparently got the third biggest at about £15m
If you're one of the better Scottish Prem keepers, though, I don't think there's anything that means you can't be be fine in our league.

Obviously it would vary from season to season, but I suspect in many seasons the top 4 or 5 in the SPL would survive in the English Championship.

Hearts/Hibs etc much better sides than some Champ sides. Some would struggle and go down perhaps but to say all would apart from the big 2, no. The majority of Champ games on TV are such poor quality. This stick it to Scottish Prem, MLS etc doesn't wash whilst the level we play in is as it is.

Wouldn't I believe. So an interview to play at Stoke goes one of two ways: 1 First Team Regular Do you expect to be in the first team? Yes. I'm miles better than everyone else even when I'm playing shit. All hail me. Post interview response: Fuck off 2 Understudy Do you expect to be in the first team? No I'm shit. However I'm happy to take a wage, bum around but please don't expect much if for some reason I get picked because the first team regular is better than me. I know my place. Post interview response: Fuck off Alternatively: 1 Squad Member Do you expect to be a first team regular? No. But I will do everything I can to prove I'm the best player in my position and if dropped I will accept the decision and work harder to get back into the first team. Post interview response: You're in.

It looks pretty simple though.
If he signs, it's a clear signal Bursik is off (and that may happen before Clark is announced for all we know)
And if we don't think he's better than Bonham, there's absolutely no point signing him
He hasn't come just to join the back-up logjam featuring Bonham, Blondy and Fielding.

Wouldn't say it's a freak event considering it was the second UEFA Cup/Europa League final they'd reached in about 15 years. Celtic got to the final sometime in the mid-2000s too so that's 3 finals within less than 20 years that have had a Scottish team.

Maybe - but I'd say Rangers were quite a bit stronger, relatively, back then. And the power of the Scottish league has weakened since those days Their last wage bill seems to be about £33m. And to get to a Euro final on that is an amazing bit of management. www.scotsman.com/sport/football/rangers/rangers-accounts-laid-bare-huge-loss-a-rising-wage-bill-investment-proposals-rejected-and-sustained-by-loans-3446413

If he does join as number one, I hope it puts to bed the chopping and changing of goalkeepers. I don't think that helped anybody last year.

With just a year left, it would be peanuts he would be sold for, might as well keep him for a year as a backup and let him go on a free. Could be if he signed a new 3 year deal and got a decent loan move with the rhetoric being that he needs go get a 30+ game season under his belt to come back with a good stab at 1st choice here. Can’t see the latter happening but who knows. We could be flirting with other keeps because we’ve sat at the table with Bursik and him and his agent are looking for too much? 🤷🏻♂️

We have a back up keeper. Makes way more sense to sell if he as expected wouldn't sign a new contract.

He's an U21 keeper who is otherwise pretty inexperienced, and the reason he's not got more experience, is because he hasn't been good enough to nail down the No1 spot, in the face of stiff competition from Gillingham's former 3rd choice 'keeper. I don't think we'll be troubling FFP with any fee we'd get.
