Imagine going from training with Man City's first team squad under Pep Guardiola to training at Clayton Woods under 'Safe' Mick O'Neill. That's like going from paradise into Josef Fritzl's basement. Imagine going from training with Man City's first team squad where no matter how well you perform it means nothing because you have literally no chance of getting even a few minutes game time on the Saturday, to training with Stoke City where everything you do in training is sharpening you up to give you that edge that could mean you score a goal and become a hero to your team mates and 20,000 fans willing you to do well.

There are some quite bizarre reaction on here to getting this deal done.This is a real coup to get arguably one of the hottest young players around who could have chosen just about any Champ club. How about enjoying this one piece of news and congratulating everyone concerned even the manager. Instead its just an endless pop at the manager with the old well worn cliches. I am no MON fan but christ sake some of you take a day off and enjoy something positive. I am looking forward to seeing what this lad is about. Welcome Liam Spot on getting pissed off with all the rubbish on here think my days may be numbered Anyway the good news is we have gone from Fletcher and Maja to Gayle and Delap so let’s give them a dozen games and get behind the other new players and see where we go rather than this negative attitude as its not helping anyone whatever you feel.

You’re clearly on a wind up these days. Why? It's been common knowledge that the club, with representatives including the manager, have had to make a number of presentations to both club and player to persuade both parties to agree that this is the club he should spend the season with. So again, well done to the manager for selling the club to him and Man City. Maybe that’s his ideal job , selling the club to the next managers targets as he as no future here otherwise

Or imagine going from man citeh not getting a kick to coming to somewhere where he's going be playing pretty much every week. Wonder which one he prefers?

Gayle is a class striker in this league is goals will come. Him Delap.and Brown should rip this league up given good service I mean, if a manager with our striker force now can’t get us in the top 6-8 in this league then there is a problem, (already is a problem).

However, he's 19 years old. I can't imagine his career aspiration is to be here, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's regret creeping in already having suffered that 90 minute display last night.

We sign Rory from Sunderland, Liam may make his first start against Sunderland, did he break his leg also against Sunderland? And it's 10 years to the day Rory played his last game for stoke. Some weird things are happening

Something that Pep creature could only dream of doing... To be fair Guardiola has only ever managed at places he could buy whoever he wanted and get rid when he didn't. There's no guarantee he'd be successful with the squad and facilities available to the NI manager.

Just watching Liam's first words vid...what a lovely young man...a definite chip off the old bloke and his enthusiasm is going to be every bit as important as his raw talent...very happy with this signing.
Welcome back Liam!

Correct, and we signed anyway despite his injury. Proved to be a great decision, one that we could be still reaping the rewards from if this young man does the business

Having watched the “First Words” interview with the usual bland questions and then rephrased having already been answered Questions i have to say;
He came over as a nice young man, who understandably knowing his parentage, is probably a STOKE CITY FAN who WANTS to play for us and was not interested in going elsewhere.
In his adolescence he was mixing with the players and families the likes of which are almost iconic legends. Shawcross, Walters, Huth, Whelan, Fuller, the list goes on. Why would he not want to play for his boyhood team?
Welcome Liam. Start sticking them in for us with Dwight, Jacob and Tyreese you can take this Lge by storm. 😀

Yep can see that...one of the more sensible ones to be fair 😁. The player knows more than anyone who he's joining, how we play, where can fit in etc. We haven't had a player like Delap under MON so hard to judge what lies ahead. He's the kind of player we've been crying out for so hopefull we will adapt a bit with that bit of quality up there

Debut v Sunderland at home same as his dad Oh fucking Lordy let’s hope it’s not an omen Fuck sake, you've done it now. (Disclaimer, Sunderland was actually his home debut. He played in the 4-0 away win at Leeds.) Rory's Manager, The great Mr Pulis, commented on the debut by saying that "he gives us a nice balance" (I think Lee Hendrie was on the other flank). I really hope that if Liam plays on Saturday then he is able to give us "a nice balance!"
