Its a great signing but is he going to see the ball?
Gayle has hardly had a whiff of it so far.

Could sign Haaland and he wouldn’t score under this bellend of a manager. Already feel sorry for him. Why do people say stuff like this? Even Jacob Brown is scoring in this team... So bloody negative all the time!

He speaks like he's a Stoke fan, which would be understandable if he is. Does make you wonder if he's ruled with his heart and not his head though. One thing's for certain though, MON has definitely overtaken Jones in the Snake Oil Salesman of the decade. Not really, I don't think it would have mattered who the manager is as you can hear and see how much he wants to play for the club.

Would be interesting to know when that interview took place, was it before or after the match last night?😅

Seriously what is the point of this signing with MON in charge?
Can’t get exited unless we change manager or the manager ditched this shite formation and square peg round hole approach with players

They're bound to surly though? Not going to say he's wank are they. If they thought he was wank, they wouldn’t say that. They wouldn’t say anything. They’d sign for someone else.🤦🏻♂️🙄 Not necessarily. You really think all players sign because of the manager? Money and time on the pitch is what they care about most (some don't even care about the latter). My point is, regardless of who we sign and their reasoning, they're all going to give the cliché statements, about the manager, what a "massive club" we are etc. When in reality all they are thinking about is the £££. So take your sarcastic emojis and shove them up your jacksie (joke)

I'm sure MON and his team will have had to make a pitch to Man City though. I was more referencing that, than what he may or may not have said to Delap Jnr.

There are some quite bizarre reaction on here to getting this deal done. This is a real coup to get arguably one of the hottest young players around who could have chosen just about any Champ club. How about enjoying this one piece of news and congratulating everyone concerned even the manager. Instead its just an endless pop at the manager with the old well worn cliches. I am no MON fan but christ sake some of you take a day off and enjoy something positive. I am looking forward to seeing what this lad is about. Welcome Liam

The Onlooker is a fox amongst sheep. A man who doesn't easily cave into peer pressure or trends but instead sticks with his principles and his own judgement. In a world were so many are easily influenced by those around them, onlooker should be commended and celebrated. It's much easier to follow the crowd or to linger out of sight than to go against the grain against an angry mob. I respect him for that. So, if multiple people share a similar opinion, they're 'sheep', as opposed to, they just might all be right?? I'm influenced by what I see with my own eyes, as is everyone else on here, I suspect. They’re both so backed into a corner over O’Neill that they’ve resorted to becoming comical figures who say outlandish things rather than admit they got it wrong. It’s ok as long as you don’t take much notice 😉

He signed because MoN IS the manager! Doubt that. His Dad yes. No he thinks O’Neill is a top manager and great at getting the best out of his players. Nothing to do with his Dad or his Dads affiliation to the club.

Welcome Liam And all some do is say, well if I was him I wouldn't come. Some need to acknowledge when something is potentially good and get behind them from the start, and be critical after when needed and deserved. Last night was very poor, but come kick off Saturday it's game on again for me. What will be will be.

Bottom line is he's signed...all this because of who etc is pure speculation. He could easily have gone elsewhere but didn't.

Imagine going from training with Man City's first team squad under Pep Guardiola to training at Clayton Woods under 'Safe' Mick O'Neill.
That's like going from paradise into Josef Fritzl's basement.
