I suspect Smallbone will be a class above the rest of our midfielders! And the rest of the league I suspect. I hope, well I suspect and hope I'm right is more to the point. I'm not sure I hope he will be a class above the rest of our midfielders as I really hope they all will do tremendously well!

Hope the midfield turn up today. Big game for them. I also hope we will start with Taylor......Flint.......Jagielka at the back as Millwall always have looked dangerous on set pieces. Besides Wilmot hasn't looked impressive on the left. I myself prefer 4 at the back, but MON seems to like a system with 3 at the back + two wingbacks.

I like the look of Laurent think after he's settled in he'll be a good signing.
I can't see past Laurent, Baker and Smallbone. It's a decent midfield at this level

No way does MON play Laurent,Baker and Smallbone together at the same time, especially when we're away from home too

I don't think Kilkenny has come as back-up.
Mind you, you look at the list of Baker, Laurent, Kilkenny, Smallbone, Thompson, Powell, Clucas - and you don't see many in the 'accept their place in the pecking order is 10-starts-a-season' category.
So it'll be interesting.

I say interesting when I mean potential cluster fuck too. Yeah - it's a very versatile word! He’s got so many options and that worries me. TP and Hughes were always at their best when they had less options and I feel MON is similar. Like Sawyers, I liked him when he played advanced but we didn’t do it often and I was very happy he didn’t join because it didn’t give MON that option of getting it wrong. On paper Kilkenny Baker Smallbone looks the best bet now.

Well you can pretty much discount that being the way MON sees him otherwise he wouldn't have gone out and got Smallbone.

It is, I agree but the manager is too negative and that's 3 forward thinking players and I don't think he's ballsy enough to play it, even at home

I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't start ( with Baker and Smallbone) today.

Wilmot got the credit for the assist but it was Laurent pressing high up into their right back position that kicked it all off. He has to play, he's the legs we've been missing for a long, long time.

Agree he certainly gets up and down the pitch. Can't see any reason why he wouldnt start today to be fair.

No way does MON play Laurent,Baker and Smallbone together at the same time, especially when we're away from home too If they can play together well at home then they can do it away from home as well. No need to retreat into a negative mentality and drop attacking players like Smallbone. It’s a balanced midfield and we need the creativity of Smallbone if it’s a good as it’s been hyped up to be.

Would be surprised at that. I know he’s not exactly been ripping trees up here but I can’t see him returning after 6 months.
