Reading the Derby forum it appears that Flint lives about 2/3 miles from Derby’s training ground so I’d imagine he’d be quite happy with a move to Derby He could run to training. He’d have to start out about 5 in the morning though.

Was supposed to be dynamite on corners, but in reality was shite at everything. We must have missed his competent years by 18 months or so. Made Danny Batth look like Franz Beckanbauer. Have we put a decent corner in all season? Odd thing to slate him on. I’d blame Baker and Thompson for that to be honest.

Linked with Derby now We should've let them have him in the summer ffs He started then, it's taken him until now to reach Derby.

Of course we have, we have put some terrible ones in but there have been good ones I'm never sure who to blame for a bad corner. They put so much effort into them is it the attackers who misread the instruction from the taker or the taker signalling something and doing something different. Even one 2" off the ground to the near post could be a plan and someone failed to run or block.

Still don’t know why teams don’t try the near post corner with a big guy to flick on like we used to with big Bren. It’s so hard to defend the consequences of the flick on. With Souttar we are made for it, but it does require a competent footballer to get the initial delivery right which we would stand no chance with.

You also need a player to be able to deliver an accurate corner. Another problem is teams have improved how they defend against this hhreat with markers immediately infront and behind the target.

Must admit I thought Flint might be one of the few players who would be in favour under Neil - limited player but big and aggressive and certainly more of a Neil CB than Wilmot and Taylor. If he can't get into our back line (which has been truly shambolic at times this season) he must be doing a really good impression of a Keystone Cop in training.
Some CBs can have a real Indian Summer or two at the end of their career - Jagielka and Taggart for example - but they tend to be the one's who have a footballing brain that can make up for a flagging body. Perhaps he's not the brightest spark on the campfire - which would be a bit ironic for a bloke called Flint.

Of course we have, we have put some terrible ones in but there have been good ones I know that just by chance, we will have done. However, the deliveries this season have been very poor. At the end of last season, we were a threat from set-pieces. That’s now gone away and it’s not because of the players waiting for the ball to finally beat the first man.

He might’ve scored a few if we had any capable crossers of the ball, but alas, we don’t.

If Flint and Souttar go, what does that leave us with in terms of centre backs?
Jagielka Taylor Wilmot Fox
Is that it?

I still can’t forgive him for allowing this the tame effort on goal to go in at Reading, he is a waste of space and good riddance.

When we played Blackburn away early on in the season he threw himself infront of everything and I thought we'd singed a right gem of a defender. Been shite ever since.

I really don’t get the vitriol towards Flint at all,yes he’s had some poor games for sure but he also had some very good ones as well this season,Blackburn & Swansea come to mind.I also noticed yesterday he was going round encouraging every player after half time when they came back out for the 2nd half also which was good to see. Obviously a Dean Holden inspired signing after O’Neil talked about the lack of height in our team last season

I’m not sure why anyone would even remember we have him.
