Never seen such a big bloke be such a massive fanny.
Made Sonko look like Maldini.

Never seen such a big bloke be such a massive fanny. Made Sonko look like Maldini. Nice stereotyping. ‘He’s huge, he must be an aggressive player who likes to put it about’ Admittedly he’s not been great (well a bit shite) on the field but leave the stereotyping in the 1980’s

I really don’t get the vitriol towards Flint at all,yes he’s had some poor games for sure but he also had some very good ones as well this season,Blackburn & Swansea come to mind.I also noticed yesterday he was going round encouraging every player after half time when they came back out for the 2nd half also which was good to see. Obviously a Dean Holden inspired signing after O’Neil talked about the lack of height in our team last season Planting a telegraph pole on the penalty spot would’ve added some height to the defence as well, and would’ve been no worse at controlling a football and no less suited to playing in a back three.

The signing didn't make sense to me
We let Batth who was a 30 year old non footballing centre back but was good in both boxes go to Sunderland who were a league below
Replaced him with a 32 year old non footballing centre back but not good in the box from a very poor team
I think the proof was there when he was at the heart of an awful Cardiff back 4
Typical Michael O'Neil non thought through signing

Like most questions the answer involves FFP.

A terrible signing that never made any sense.

I'm not harking for Batth back by the way, it's just odd to replace him with a slightly worse, older replica

Tbf he had a reputation for being a "monster" in both boxes and he definitely hasn't been from what I've seen.
I was also dead against the signing from the start.

The biggest problem with the Stoke squad at present is that it’s full of carbon copies. The attackers are all similar, as are the midfield in many respects. Successful clubs have different options.

Yup. He bought a load of wishy washy midfielders and strikers that roughly do the same thing. We needed specialist DM and target man and he failed.

We also have a lot of defenders who are more concerned with passing the ball around the back than they are of tackling a player. Flint had a reputation for the latter.

I think the centre halves are fairly well rounded players generally. The issue being their consistency.

We are chock full with slow immobile CB’s who need to play in the centre of a three and 1 mobile CB you’d ideally pick for the positions either side and then there’s Fox who some people claim AN has improved, at what I’m not sure.

Hopefully true. Aden jog (or sprint in your case) on. Hasn't been great but it leaves us very exposed at centre back, especially this late in the window with Souttar a likely departure. I just hope we've got one or two lined up or we have a big problem.

Awful signing.
Would be lovely to get rid of all of MONs summer signings asap.

Yes he was poor under O'Neil but you pick on current form and on that basis he's worthy of his place in the side.
