Good. He needs replacing with someone who got some pace and energy. Midfield today was embarrassing. Like three old men trotting around the park

Giving him a contract would be a massive mistake. i’m not a huge critic of Joe but he’s 32 and won’t be getting any better. The first 11 needs freshening up and needs more physicality in CM alongside Baker who despite a bit of a dip is an excellent player. What I would say is that we need better than Thompson playing alongside Baker at the start of next season.

Then as has been shown this season his teams will get bullied. We are in desperate need of both a CM and CF who have pace and power it’s as plain as day. We’re too easy to play against.

Would make sense. While I have said I wouldn't mind Joe getting another year its probably best for all that there is a rethink of the starting midfield for next year. Joe has a very good second half of the season in my view. be good for him and the family to go home.

I won't be too disappointed if he signs or not really. Think we can get a player better suited to play alongside Baker and Powell. Think we still lack a lot of steel in midfield, and with the wages Allen will get I actually think we can get somene better for less. a new goalkeeper a new right back a new midfielder a new striker

He said it when he chose not to pursue the combative young Northern Irish midfielder that went to Preston from Scotland. He looked like he’d be ideal for us.

Looked like he was waving goodbye to me. Did a personal lap of honour at the end of the game with his family.

Maybe it's best for both parties if Joe goes. We'll have to find a new scapegoat next season. That shouldn't be too difficult.

You just know MON will go all out to get Sawyers if Allen goes. What we need is a beast in the middle of the park with pace and capable of a tackle. Of course MON has already stated we don't need one

He gets a lot of hate on here but he's a true professional and has served Stoke City well, giving his all whenever he's been on the pitch even when some of his team mates looked like they couldn't care less.
I'd be happy to see him stay for another year on reduced terms but at his age it shouldn't be a long term contract. If he does go then good luck to him, he doesn't owe us anything and it's probably time we brought some new blood in.

Russell Martin has said he wants to sign him.
What a day when he leaves. God I hope it’s soon.

In fact if the rumoured wages are right, £50K+ per week, we certainly could have got a better player for half of that money in my opinion.

www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/russell-martin-admits-wants-sign-23893178Meanwhile, WalesOnline exclusively revealed Wales star Allen is firmly on Swansea's transfer wish list.
The 32-year-old's Stoke City contract has expired, meaning he is now a free agent.
It's understood Swansea have already held talks with Allen - who is thought to be keen on a return to his boyhood club.
And Martin admits he's a huge admirer of the 70-cap Wales international.
Would you like to see Joe Allen back at Swansea City? Have your say in our comments section here.
“Brilliant player, brilliant character. I watched him for Wales recently," explained Martin. "He was excellent, the way he spoke to other players as well.
“He loves this club, I love him as a player. I will say it. I would love to [sign him]. We’ll have to wait and see.
“It will depend on a lot of things. We have a lot of midfielders at the club. We have some midfielders that haven’t played very much.
“People are going to have to leave for people to come in. But Joe is someone who would fit here perfectly. He knows the club, the club knows him.
“I am sure he has got plenty of offers and I am sure at some point we will sit down and have a chat about him."

MON is so much of a dinosaur and behind the times that maybe in another 15-20 years we could well be in another cycle where a physical central midfielder doesn’t matter and he could be right. Until then teams will continue to stroll right past us.

I just don't think all our woes are down to Joe Allen. In fact I'd say he is well down the list of dross we've signed in the last 5 or six years.
