Still an outside chance mate but it’s going to take one hell of a run for us to achieve 6th place.Unfortunately for me it’s out of reach but we’ll see.At least we’re seeing some entertaining games of late and plenty of goals

4 points from the play offs but we need Powell fit for the next 15 games

If the manager left does anyone actually think we’d get worse?
And if he stays do people genuinely think he’ll improve us?
I really struggle to think either will happen.

At least this season seems like it’s going to peter out with some entertaining games and plenty of goals and not drab, binary garbage like last season.
As for next season, the manager has already alluded to how the summer window will give us a great chance to overhaul the squad. If he can’t make us a top six side next season it’ll be toast for him.

I have very little sympathy for any manager who has been in a job over two years, made countless singings and is now playing with a centre back at right back.
He's massively under achieving this season and needs a huge turn in fortunes for us to have any belief next season will be any different.

That’s where I’m at too - we’re not going up this year but MON deserves one more season to have a crack at a genuine promotion push. But think patience will very much be up after that.

I think he will improve us, yes. He's already improved us from when he walked in through the door, against the backdrop of a dysfunctional, demotivated squad that cost a fortune and was taking us to League One. He's cut costs and lowered the age of the squad. As the OP said, next season is huge.

To clarify - I agree with your post. unnhmmm... Excuse me.

Everything still feels a bit negative with how he goes about the 90 minutes.

I fear O’Neill has taken as far as he can.
Leadership is time limited for even the best leaders and I doubt the strength of his leadership anyway.
A new leader is required.

He doesn't know how to prepare to be a top team in this league, we're going nowhere. He's done well too stabilize the club, he's a good manager for a lower team at this level, but I can't see him taking us further especially after another game where he's chosen brown as a central striker and wilmot at right back.

We look dour without Powell in midfield, even Baker has caught the giving the ball away cheaply virus Think Moore should come in on Wednesday You’d have thought given Powell’s atrocious games played ratio we’d have a plan in place to play without him. It’s getting tiresome the amount of games he’s missed, for me he’s not a massive game changer, Fuller was injury prone but he was a massive game changer for us.

What are you basing the ‘he’s not a massive game changer’ thing on, out of interest? Given before he broke his leg he’d got close to 1 in 2 this season, we were largely shit without him and when he came back he immediately changed the game?

In O’Neill’s 121 games Powell has missed 29 through injury and suspension including 13 with a broken foot……..

4 points from the play offs but we need Powell fit for the next 15 games 6 points but far more importantly 6 other clubs between us and 6th place. It is nailed on at least 2 or 3 of them will finish well even if we were to catch Sheffield United which we won't. Oh, and we have won exactly 2 of our last 10 matches. We don't have an earthly, not a snow balls chance in hell!
