I'm just wondering whether they would have been holding these talks with Tuchel now if they had not lost to Greece? It's been implied that Carsley was told before then he's not getting the job It would have been like handing the reins over from David Brent to Gareth.

Hmmm, not sure about this one. Me neither but quick glance at his CV it is impressive Generally wants to play attacking football and is known for some smart tactical thinking However he's not going to be the unifying force for the players that Southgate was I guess his relationship with the media will be key Seen a few suggestions that he gets on better with the English media than the German media He’s fallen out with players and staff at basically every single club he’s ever been at. I’m suprised the FA have gone with him for this reason, he’s certainly not a yes man. Think he’ll do well but won’t last multiple tournaments like Southgate did. 2 at a maximum.

I personally think this will end in tears. Soon as we lose the German memes will come out on social media. He’ll get loads of shit Well, let’s hope they ‘don’t mention the war’ then 😄

If Southgate got shit for getting us to two finals, god knows what Tommy gets if things go pear shaped.
I hope it works out but this could go very badly wrong.

Fleet Street will dig something up within a few weeks I reckon. He deffo seems the type to frequent sex dungeons for explorative penetration and humiliation.

Porto weren’t exactly a small club were they? Portuguese premier league isn’t small time and they’d won it 18 times before he took over including 7 in the preceding 10 seasons. They’d also won their FA cup equivalent 11 times including 5 times in the preceding 10 seasons. Hardly small time. Looking at his record at FC Porto they had finished 3 rd the previous season and he took them back to champions following season. IMO it’s a myth that mourinho once had success with a small club, not in the same league as the likes of Real Madrid I agree, but definitely not a small club. No but compared to the other clubs in the champions league they're run of the mill. Including the shit who they knocked out. They also won uefa cup in 2003.

It's been implied that Carsley was told before then he's not getting the job It would have been like handing the reins over from David Brent to Gareth. The Brentmeister and Gareth would be far more entertaining. How much more inspired the players would have been at the Euros after one of Brents motivational speeches rather than having to listen to Southgate

Annoys me this no end. 35m men in England, and not one of them can manage our football team? Short memory? Stuart Pearce too: "I do think with all the money the FA spend on coaching courses, when the jobs come along, an Englishman never gets the job and it's sad." Pearce, Hodgson, Allardyce, Southgate.

I wish people would grow up and desist with the German stereotypes. It's not 1940 and it's hardly his fault that he looks like the slightly-camp-but-sadistic SS officer who removes his leather gloves one finger at a time.
