Odd good pass every now and then but just like Maja a player in there but doesn't come out often enough!

The flick to Tymon over two players who had him penned in on the touch line and the subsequent inter play between the two of them in the first half in front of the Tile Mountain was the best bit of play we've seen for ages. Deserved a goal. If he stays he could well become my favourite player.

I like him in a more advanced position. He's another the wrong side of 30, though.

A real footballer, we haven't seen many of them these last few years. I still think he's equally decent in a deeper role, he's a talented footballer.

Some of his passes today were sublime, great to watch. I’d keep him if we could, he cuts defences open like few others We'd need to play a lot more counter-attacking football to get the most out of him, I feel. He has a great eye for a pass and he can hit them outside the box, but if we are going to try to sign him, you'd imagine it would be instead of Powell. He can't play deep and isn't much of a threat from dead balls, so we would have to maximise his passing range. Powell could play up top where his ability to hold the ball up, win headers or shoot would be ideal.

He has been class since return from injury. Let Vrancic go, retain Sawyers (I appreciate he is 30 but he is so comfortable on the ball and is a fabulous passer) we need him in outperform midfield.

Dovetailed very nicely with Allen and Baker I thought. I like the angles he looks for in his passing.

He's miles ahead of anyone else in the team in his reading of the game.
The type of player I actually enjoy watching

Yeah maybe not his best game but I do like that combination in midfield. It was balanced. And Sawyers stayed advanced which I liked. It’s where he works best clearly. Sawyers and Maja linked really well together as well. I’d love to see it in a formation with more attacking players though. We’re good enough to do it.

Ran the show, easily motm, need to keep him for next season as it would give us some options up front as well given MON likes to play Powell there from time to time.

He wasn’t going back anyway. He’s out of contract. People have said they have the option for another year? So he might be? Yeah, entirely down to Bruce, you'd think, who has said he "likes him as a player" Whether he thinks there's better out there for the money than triggering another year of Sawyers on the probably tasty contract he signed when he was a very in-demand player. They've been linked with Swift from Reading, I think theathletic.com/3238397/2022/04/08/bruce-is-a-fan-of-romaine-sawyers-will-he-be-back-at-albion-next-seasonRomaine Sawyers is out of contract at the end of the season so the 30-year-old, who is ineligible to face his full-time employers, would be an easy player to offload. But Albion have an option to extend the former Brentford midfielder’s deal by an extra year. Sawyers is waiting to discover that decision, happy to return, content to remain at Stoke and unsure yet whether he will get the offer to do either. Albion have until the third week of May to inform the ex-Walsall midfielder of their intentions, after which Stoke might well have their own decision to make. At both clubs, disappointingly stuck in the middle of the Championship, there are a host of moving parts that are likely to influence Sawyers’ future. The most obvious factors in the equation are the futures of the respective managers, West Brom’s Steve Bruce and Michael O’Neill of Stoke. They are under contract for next season but are finding their positions the subject of serious debate among supporters, having been unable to halt their teams’ slides down the table. O’Neill is a confirmed fan of Sawyers and Bruce is likely to be looking for extra craft in possession if he is given the chance to reshape his squad in the summer. With Bruce and O’Neill still in their jobs, it seems entirely possible that Sawyers will get an opportunity next season either in the Black Country or in the Potteries. Should either man leave their posts, however, Sawyers’ future may well be affected. “He made a difference when he came on last weekend when I watched Stoke against Sheffield United,” said Bruce. “Then he scored in midweek against Reading. He’s a good footballer. “It’s all about decisions and other managers have different ways, but I’ve always liked him as a player. He’s in our thoughts (for next season).”

Not sure where he fits in for us if Powell and Baker are two of a midfield three. More importantly, I really wouldn't offer a three year contract to a 30 year old.

Nowhere near as good as I was expecting him to be.
Obviously an accomplished player, but plays as if he is just going through the motions and doesn't have anywhere near as much influence on games as his talent suggests he should.
