FFS! We beat Hull away 2-0 and could have been more,we scored 2 and created plenty against the standout league leaders, and lost by the odd goal on Tuesday.I'm as disappointed as the next man about our last performance but get a grip, replacing the manager at this stage, with God knows who will achieve nothing.Thank God your not watching live. I thought I read something like 2 wins in 12 or 14???? If so, its a much longer period of shitness than losing the odd game we play well in There wasn't too much moaning on Saturday was there, and if we'd won on Tuesday, this thread would have disappeared out of sight.Do you think sacking the manager now will get us into a playoff position, because I don't.

And his achievements are? He reached the play offs in his first and only season in the Championship? It's certainly a more relevant CV than managing Northern Ireland, which is a completely different skillset. Spending most of the money which has got Derby in the state they are in now and even then he failed to reach the promised land which the money he spent should have led him to. (Talking about the suggestion we should have Lampard as next manager instead of MON.)

It’s a good achievement with a small country granted I’d agree maybe a better achievement than derby getting in play offs. It’s quite clear that a lot of fans still have faith in O’Neil. I haven’t had for a long time now. I just wonder these fans who still have faith how much longer do you give him. For me end of season max if we continue in this vain. What are your thoughts on how long he should get, end of next season, year after It’s just so disappointing. Maybe we had our time for a while it’s just so drab

We could have easily been beaten by Orient if the could finish.

Its the terroitory hes paid £1.5 m a year for her did a great Red Adair job two years ago but the evidence is categorical we have not moved forward to anything like the level required to even make the play offs He had a mid table 55 point tem two years ago and has one now ,his recruitment has been poor not a single loan has made a difference , his better players were here when he arrived and his peer group like Wilder and Cooper are showing the it takes time to make a difference ids the tag line of mediocrity . His appointment as a saviour was fine but the huge gaps in his CV were as stated at the time were 1 No evidence of domestic promotion campaign 2 Critically no evidence of managing a UK transfer window Both of these pretty critical in our objectives now its possible to lean on other enormous successes see Gerrard but there isnt much evidence to support success with the other international teams is a good pedigree Coleman and Clarke good of examples of the benchmark is higher in the championship where they both struggled despite success in the international arena Benji, you're only telling half a tale there. The horrendous run of injuries we've had have played a massive part in our situation, as have the ridiculous fees and wages paid to former players that he's had to try and get rid of. He's been like a man tied with his hands behind his back. FFP has created havoc with our ability to really upgrade to much better players too. Being a decent former international manager doesn't automatically say he'll be a decent club manager, but considering where he's taken us from - certain relegation to a season where we won't go down - is he not allowed time to learn his club management trade too? Unlike our previous manager, I've never heard him say he knows it all. Then add onto his CV the fact that he's brought through more youngsters than anyone for many years. I understand why supporters get angry. They're no different than me when we turn out crap performances. But unlike many others, even though after each bad game I want to kick the cat through the window, on reflection I like to take a holistic view on things. For me, he's got until the end of next season before I really make a judgement on his ability to become a really decent club manager, but if during that time we become mired in a relegation battle, then I'd take the chance to find someone else. OS. That’s fair enough of course and make no mistake i dont put all our on issues by any means down to him , our biggest single one for me has just left but ive been constant on the view that real change wont occur while Scholes was there too much vested interest in the status quo he had manoeuvred , and this manager is not the one to get us promoted , however i think you will be right and the club will stick with him for the foreseeable future certainly this season and the summer , unless he thinks he think he’s had enough

It’s not difficult to figure out the appointment in 2019, given his proven ability to win football matches with average players. He did what he came here to do during that spell. Since then, he has had one full season which was disrupted by Covid and a football club full of mercenaries. Add the FFP situation to the equation and he has done a decent job. The squad, in terms of talent, is improving, but it will be interesting to see if he can release their potential. In my mind he has an international managers mentality, particularly with his team selection, substitutions (sheer loyalty) and results (very tight games with the odd goal in it), but that doesn’t necessarily work over a full season in the championship. I think the Coates family will stick with him, he’s a good talker, pretty astute in the transfer market and we would never face relegation under him. But is that good enough? Instant success, particularly with the obvious chains around his neck, is not a given for any manager. We are not there yet, but we are certainly going in the right direction.

Need bursik back ASAP I think tomorrow will tell us a lot , a good performance and win will get us back on track and hope that we can start and put in consistent good performances. For me play offs are gone but hope your right that we can improve from now till end of season

Other than getting shut of the high earners, please explain how we're going in the right direction. Its a fair argument to say we are actually worse than the team that he took over which seemed to score for fun. For me MON started to lose it during the first lockdown with his bizarre team selections. We haven't actually in terms of points earned improved that much have we?

We need a manager who can the players off 33 and on to 78!!! The pace we move the ball out of our own half is incredibly slow and boring to watch. We have now become a very predictable side that other teams sussed us out months ago. If a manager wants to play that way then play players who can play that way. The players play at the same pace as the the dinosaur manager takes his hands in and out of his pockets. O’Neill out!!!!

And his achievements are? What are MON's achievements? What were anyone's achievements before they won something for the first time / got promoted etc? The question makes no sense. We go from one non achiever to another, eh? Nobody is an achiever until they have won something? We've already have one of them, so you want to swap him for another. Logical? No.

He did nothing with a multi million team. He doesn't seem to the first choice of any other club. He's not proven. It's Chelsea, completely different expectations. Doubt he'd drop back to the Championship anyway. He didn't get results.

Getting rid of the high earners was clearly a priority. But I genuinely think that Souttar is a significant upgrade on Batth, Vrancic and Baker are upgrades on Mikel and Allen and there has been some hugely positive loan signings and academy additions. Vokes, Gregory and Hogan have been replaced by younger potential, and we seem to be seeing a manager who is finally showing some trust in our academy. That sounds like a club going forward. I also believe that the injuries to Souttar and Powell, our best players at the start of the season, has seen us suffer at both ends of the pitch, and the top 6 spot we have occupied for long periods has not been sustainable. Our goalkeeping situation has been uncertain, with no single keeper nailing the No 1 spot, but I think we remain competitive, and in my opinion we are not far off being a quality outfit.

He seems to get his team performing initially i.e. when he first got here, then first half of last season and same this season. He's showing little in the way of improving except as you say with getting rid of a fair few, which in of itself is ok but we need a whole season of consistency not 3 or 4 months only. It's clear the owners will not be getting rid, but as far as I am concerned he is not showing the inspiration necessary to achieve promotion. Listening to his post match excuses is becoming tiresome.
