Having been to all away games this season, I thought Coventry fans last night were the best/worst I've seen.
Best by being the loudest Worst by taunting us about our 'big day out'
That drum was loud and we never even got any songs started.
Compare that to the library at the Bet365. No wonder they are on a roll and we aren't.
I've said it many times, we should stick the away fans away from the tunnel at the Bet365. Coming out to the noise of their own fans gives them an instant lift. Stick them in the Upper Tier somewhere they can't be heard. One of the first thing Alex Ferguson did at Utd was move the away fans from behind the scoreboard end to the corner they are now.

The day out / cup final match thing is becoming a bore now - but we do it as well I suppose. Their fans were good last night can't fault them.

The whole atmosphere was muted last night, even in the concourse before the game. No singing really until 5 mins before KO. Had a feeling of doom long before the drive home.

Yeah drums are wank.
They only sounded decent on the tv after about 65 minutes tbh.

I don't know what it is with us. We have to be up for something. We have to be the underdog. When we are on it we are loud. When we aren't we're wank.

It's almost as if lifeless, moribund farting around somehow doesn't inspire loud, engaged support.

Not knocking the OP but these threads always make me laugh
I too was there last night and never once did I see any Stoke fan trying to get the away end going so why didn’t the OP try?
Or is it somebody else’s job?

Or is it somebody else’s job? To be fair mate I was there and several times around me they tried to get it going but it ended up being a group of around 25 singing and then drowning out.

I think after 10 years in the 3rd flight they are feeling pretty chipper about things, conversely after 10 years in the top flight we are feeling like we are in terminal decline.

I’d take drums, trumpets, pianos, violins even vuvuzelas to try and get some atmosphere at the Bet 365 at the moment it is embarrassingly awful. I d go as far to say there aren’t many clubs in the whole football league with stadiums as quiet as ours. Probably the lack of decent songs to sing doesn’t help.

The converation has been done to death about the location of away fans.
Yeah, it's not ideal with them being housed by the away tunnel, but they are there as the police have them boxed in and transported straight off after games.
The club will never relocate them. Just accept it.

In the 90's the Oatcake used to print new songs for every home game under the Macari era. Remember going up and going up and get away? Status Quo

I mentioned on another thread a couple of weeks ago that we need some new material. The only song which seems to get going nowadays is “oh when the reds”. Delilah seems to be dying of a slow death. As already mentioned further up Blackpool we’re brilliant with their “Ole Ole Ole” song.

Lost their ground, played home matches at other teams grounds, languished for a while in a lower division. Now they are back at home. newly promoted and charging to the play offs. Ever likely their fans are singing. Now compare their recent history to ours, I don't have to remind folks do I? When we charged into the premiership our fans were regarded as the loudest in the country. I've said it before and I'll say it again...... It's the team performance that inspires the fans, rarely the other way round.

Perhaps they are a good bunch of fans regarding atmosphere generally but im also guessing that Coventry fans are still technically in their celebrating promotion to the Championship honeymoon period due to no fan participation in the season they actually got promoted and actually being back at The Ricoh in a higher league has likely given them an added lift aswell after a few seasons away at St.Andrews.
Could explain their noise and expectation levels somewhat.
Edit:- just seen Strollers comments above ☝🏻 whilst I must of been typing echoing similar

We need a simple song on a loop, in order to give the ground chance to get in sync. The only noise we make is Oh When The Reds, that is a loop and rolls around the ground. When in sync it is loud. I detest Allez allez allez, but that is what allowed Blackpool/Coventry to maintain an atmosphere.
In 2008 we had ‘ring of fire’ - not the same impact but a similar vibe.
The MoN song works, but with many annoyed at MoN, it’s not got the same impact at the moment.
