This is the Ukrainian beachhead over the river. Every dot is a Russian vehicle that was hit on film. Look like about a hundred and the beachhead is expanding if anything. Still nfi what the plan is. Make a cut across the south to cut off Crimea from the supply lines? Sounds nice but how do you do that when your supply boats are getting shot up constantly? They could gamble thousands of troops but if it goes tits up you might lose them all and it'd be a disaster. Russia couldn't hold the other bank despite having way more artillery and tanks... EDIT: my guess is Ukraine wants russians to keep attacking into drone/artillery range. Ukraine has roughly a 20-1 armoured vehicle kill ratio here iirc, I'd keep that going as long as other casualties aren't too high. |

Good news is NATO kit really seems a class above Russian.
The bad news is that if they're relying on Bradleys that could mean Ukraine is tightly rationing artillery and anti-tank missiles.

I wonder what the real russian casualties outside Avdiivka are. Ukraine and some western intel sources said thousands in the first week.
Someone went through a drone video of the main treeline Russia captured on 10-16th October and counted 113 russian corpses in there.
There's another recent one outside an industrial coke plant showing Russian corpses huddled up against a wall outside and covered in snow.
Haunting.

What are the most reliable, twitter, you tube, websites to follow to get updates on the current situation on the front? I’ve taken a few months off following what’s going on and some accounts I was following seem to have stopped posting. Cheers guys.

Maybe these would do what you want mate? @deepstateua on Telegram (I think they're on twitter too?) give daily updates and are incredibly reliable because they have military links. The translation can get funky though. Andrew Perpetua is the best english-speaking source for news and info IMO but it's often technical stuff. @noelreports on twitter (noel_reports on Telegram) posts interesting news and daily summaries. Decently reliable but makes mistakes, overall probably the best if you want day-by-day news. Institute for the Study of War does daily updates too. More formal and lots more text. |

Two British mercenaries have been murdered by the Ukrainian Azov nazi regiment, Allegedly according to some reports on the Internet Do You have any links to these reports? You will find it on the Internet. One of the lads name was Burke, he was pulled out of a river, his hands were tied behind his back and he had been shot by Ukraine anvov regiment. You will also find the two US soldiers/mercenaries who were shot by a Ukrainian soldier, the Ukrainians were retreating and the US soldiers were telling them to hold the ground, the Ukrainian shot them both, one of the US soldiers had a live cam running all the time it happened |

 North of Avdiivka, russia has entered Stepove (population 62), again. Each pin locates a video showing something, like some soldiers or a vehicle blowing up. On the right are the rail lines that Russia secured by about the 17th October. There was a drone video over the treeline where someone counted 113 Russian corpses in that little area. It's insanity. The red "russian control" rectangle that sticks out is some fields, about 800 m long and 400 m wide. That's how far Russia has advanced here in 61 days of intense fighting. |

South of Avdiivka - Last week russia launched another big attack over a week. This guy is frontline and has been totally accurate so far. He shows 9 lost russian tanks, which he says happened just on the first day.
We don't know whether Russia advanced or what happened the following days yet.

Russia shot down another one of their own Su-25 jets 😂😂 hopefully the pilots were killed or captured.
Ukraine also launched a drone attack on a russian airfield and seems they damaged an Su-34 jet. There's only one photo so far and it's hard to tell but it doesn't look that damaged to me...

Russia promising 500k roubles (about 5 months wages) as a sign-up bonus to volunteer soldiers, plus citizenship. Lots of soldiers say they either weren't paid or they get the bonus and then their salary is "withheld". They're then kept in ukraine and can't leave.
Russia also promises payouts to families of dead soldiers. Often they abandon or burn the corpses then they tell the family their dead father/husband is missing and then there's no payout.
A really helpful trick for Russia's budget.

Another Russian attack south of Avdiivka foiled.
The Ukrainians are running low on lots of important ammunition. The republicans blocking more aid is clearly meant to help the dictator grind out a win this winter.

Finland to double ammunition production, send extra to Ukraine. Only a small amount, Ukraine needs more and it needs ammo now. Unfortunately Europe is only just ramping up. It's bad right now that Republicans blocked aid to help out Putin. Seeing videos of Russians streaming across fields in the open and Ukraine can see but can't afford to shoot them until they're close. Republicans have helped kill a lot of Ukrainians and helped to save a lot of the russian army. Ukraine is still stopping major advances. It's just horribly more bloody and Russia is taking a few fields and trenchlines every week or so right now.

How many people have passed away so far in this ghastly war? We don't know, numbers all over the place. Maybe 100k dead Ukrainian civilians. In August the US said 70k Ukrainian and 120k Russian soldiers KIA. Not clear if Russian # includes press ganged Ukrainians or groups like Wagner. |

Everyone thinks of trenches, guns and tanks, but I think fuel, political support and money also matter.
Mild winter + good forecast = European gas supplies above last year and commercial prices down from 53 to 35 euros.
More money saved for the good guys and less going to the bad guys 👍

Potential bad news that Russia maybe captured a field and tree line over the train tracks and north of Stepove. If confirmed it's another step towards cutting off Avdiivka.
Last year Russia attacked Bakhmut 1st August to 20th May. This year the Russian position isn't as strong and it seems they want a win by Putin's "election" 15-17th March.
Things are on a knife edge. Ukraine is low on ammo but inflicting huge casualties and stopping most attacks. I fully expect Russia to launch another huge push before March to try and get the win. The republicans stabbing Ukraine in the back gives the dictator a better chance by preventing emergency ammo deliveries.

He has to, because if the West keeps helping Ukraine then the Russian army gets crushed. Putin's intelligence agencies helped get trump elected last time and they're working on a repeat now and similar across Europe. The dictator lovers of MAGA are have stalled Ukraine aid for over a month. These people want more innocents to die in the hope it'll force Ukraine to surrender so that the dictator can win. They have been doing for weeks before you flag it. Rumours that Poland are going to invade Northern Ukraine and take back lands which they consider Polish where ethnic Polish are living |

Gonna be really interesting. I assumed it was another one of those daily rumour mill things someone made up until Ukraine added the claim. This usually means Ukraine tried an attack at least. It'd be a nice surprise if confirmed! EDIT: ok a reliable Russian source confirmed at least one and it sounds like the pilots died. Let's gooooo Patriot! |

Russian vehicles lost on video. Not counting damaged ones.
Russia claims to be making something like 240 *new* tanks, 200-300 BMPs and either 45 or 80 self propelled howitzers per year.*
It's lost 760+ tanks, 730+ BMPs and 250+ SPHs this year.
The real losses are higher when you add the ones not filmed and the damaged ones that are unusable. Probably 1k+ each for tanks and BMPs.
*It's 45 or 80 because one set of 35 was translated as "upgraded". I don't know if they upgraded old ones, or they were new top-level versions.
