Apart from a ground war the west only have diplomacy and there’s no chance they’ll get involved in one of those …..as with football the smaller clubs feel the wrath and get stamped on whilst the bigger ones get their hands slapped …..it’s the same scenario

I don't really understand Putin's reasoning behind this - the West may well sit idly by whilst he installs a puppet government but at the cost of sanctions and Europe looking at other sources for its energy. Do Russian's realistically see a scenario where Nato would start an offensive and invade Russia? - western democracies just wouldn't tolerate such an action Doesn’t want NATO in a country as pivotal as Ukraine given its access to the Black Sea and more especially Crimea They’ll get in and nail that area and the west will talk ( like crimea ) but eventually it’ll disappear off the news and become accepted As with Afghanistan and others. Whinge and moan for a few weeks but then start focusing on what pronouns to use rather than the shit that's happening off our shores.

The Salisbury incident was an act of international terrorism in our country as was the other poisoning cases prior to that, so in effect Putin had already been dipping his toes into provoking a reaction on our shores & I'm sure he won't stop at just making threats, he seems intent of achieving whatever it is he wants rights now & he's the sort of character who will carry out what he promises. He seems unhinged & even crossing & mocking his own inner circle at recent meetings, sadly mirroring another tyrant who set off on a path of destruction and knew no bounds. Sounds like he needs taking out (and i’m not talking to dinner). Now there's a suicide mission if ever there was one.

He wants it, but would he settle for the two territories and a Ukranian buffer state? I think if things didn't go his way he would....... His objective is pretty clear. Make Ukraine a Russian satellite in the same way Belarus is. Meaning a regime change with a compliant leader installed. So it fulfills that buffer role you mention. I think he is now effectively committed to this. Which is why things could get really messy. Restricting himself to the Donbas would leave him with a long term irritation that would cause him even more problems. The next week will be critical. If he hasn’t achieved his objectives by then he could be in serious trouble.

Is he mad enough to try and take Europe? He could try, but just wait until he gets to France.. they will stop them. After all they've got a great record of repelling invasions, or maybe not 🤣🤣

Certain people in this country need to give their heads a wobble and realise that they've been duped and are part of the problem. I mean the talk about pronouns above shows that. It's a small thing, weaponised by the right who are in bed with an anit LGBTQ+ regime. It's all tied. People won't want to admit it. They may not see it/want to see it. The right are up to their bastard eyeballs in Putin.

The Tories are funded by people close to Putin. The Russians have interfered in our elections, in our politics and want to fracture Europe. Brexit is the cornerstone of that. The current Tory leadership are in bed with the very people we're meant to be at war with. Keep not understanding it if you want. Plead ignorance. But this is fucked up. And the right wing across Europe are up to their eyeballs with Putin. They have been in bed with him for the last 15 years. I despair how far the right, the Tory party have gone. There are no morals there. And there seems to be no willing from people who have voted for them to admit they do anything wrong. It's awful.

I think it's all part of Putin's plan to fracture the west, as was Brexit and you've been played like fools and won't want to admit that. But yeah having Putin's allies so close to our government ministers isn't an issue at all.....it's perfectly normal. Look at the sanctions we haven't made. Johnson is actively giving them time to move their money. It's an absolute disgrace.

No: I think you’ve been sucked into a culture war that doesn’t exist created by people who if they had to choose would be on Putins side. The same for the woke shite. It’s nonsense by right wing media to drum up hate.

When Putin complained that Ukraine’s admission into NATO would result in war, we should have recognised that for the double speak it was and what it really meant was that Ukraine in NATO was the only thing that would deter Putin invading.

I just about remember WW2, although I was very young. I remember my two uncles being called up. I remember their Mum (my Grandma) having a full breakdown as her brother had died in WW1. She never properly recovered and suffered with her nerves until her death 30 years later. War is terrible. We have to defend ourselves but it is a high price to pay.
