The least proactive in game manager we’ve had? This has been on the cards and again he couldn’t see it. His subs generally don’t work. He doesn’t make proactive subs. He doesn’t react to oppositions subs or changes in tactics until it’s too late. He really needs to sort it out. He’e an extremely limited manager There’s nothing to sort out These are his limitations The club needs to sort it out by replacing him

He will get us to the play-offs mate, I'm sure of it. If not then look elsewhere. This spell is the first real bump this season. Today we were 3-0 up and cruising. I thought we were in control at Bramall Lane as well and we were worthy of a point against Bournemouth. The players bottled this. He will get us nowhere near the playoffs even though we do have a top 6 squad

Gutting. But I want Martin O Neil sacking right now as much as I wanted Cardiff to score a 4th. He needs to be knocking some heads together tonight mind. This fragility/ slide must stop. The first one he should knock is his against the wall

That is true, mate but something has to change. Michael O’Neill has done a great job for 50 or 60 games but we seem to be stuck in mid-table treacle since. Do we accept mid-table finishes or push for promotion. It’s a big decision. Question is how long would the owners remain patient and carrying on accepting not making the play offs?? It will continue to happen until they change tack and get a proper continental manager

We're in the same position as always. If there is a better manager available and they want the job then we make a ruthless decision. A model perfected by the scousers when they got Klopp in. Right now the only better option is Wilder (Chris, not Deontay). If Wilder wanted the job I'd very reluctantly make the switch, if not MON should stay. Lots want MON out, not many can come up with a viable replacement. Wilder could be a great option, if not then MON stays. A proper continental manager. Same as what brentford, watford and Norwich had last year

I suppose the start we made might of raised expectations. Top 8-10 this season then next season playoffs would be my expectations

Questions about the ability of the manager to turn things around have to asked. Cardiff fired McArthy after eight straight losses in a row. Giving up a 3-0 lead in five minutes of play is equivalent of a loss, so that’s five in a row. Two more performances like yesterday before the international and he needs to be shown the door because the players will have lost all confidence. In fact anything less than four points from the next two games and he should be fired otherwise we are in serious trouble. We saw what happened when they failed to pull the trigger on Hughes and this has all the signs of history repeating itself.

Wilder is the one outstanding candidate out there for sure, though his transfer record when he had money to spend isn't great. It's such a frustrating time at present, we are playing some really good attacking football this season, yet are soft as anything. Not sure I agree with this we don't need a CDM as we want to dominate possession, the very best teams maybe, but we simply haven't got the quality of midfielder for that. Not sure what the answer is to be honest.

Does anyone think that the way the crowd panicked when they scored their first goal might have had something to do with the the players panicking and making stupid mistakes? No obviously not. No because that would be stupid. They're highly paid professionals

It was interesting to note MON acknowledged the issues and the solutions which are obvious for all to see. However, he never once took responsibility or acknowledged his role in fixing the problems.

I'm hoping ,more in desperation than anything ,that in the long run we can look back and say what happened yesterday was a blessing in disguise as if that doesn't force his hand and make him realise we aren't going to win many games with that formation/tactics /personnel then nothing will.

Quite surprised really, as he’s built enough of a reputation to get something better than the Segunda División. Also, he inherited a Premier League squad at Watford. He’s unproven with a squad in rebuild like ours. He would probably very quickly sideline Wilmot, as he didn’t fancy him at Watford.

MON has enough credit in the bank for me where I think we’d look silly to replace him at this stage.
That being said he definitely needs to sort his shit out, it’s criminal to give up a 3 goal lead to the worst side I’ve seen this season. Especially after giving away other leads with some woeful defending which should have been addressed on the training pitch and with some changes in personnel.

It’s a pity our board ain’t as ruthless as Daniel levy.. bet if Denise was involved with the club as a business woman mon would be well gone.. over a 100 games in charge an what the fuck was that Saturday.. an absolute shit show.. our defence has gone back too shitting themselves everytime a team attacks them.. I can not see anyway or how mon is going too change this after already being here for 2 years.. blow smoke up his ass all u want.. the fact of the matter is.. he’s a average championship manager.. he’s a nice bloke an pulled us out of the shit keeping us up but the stats an league positions prove he just average.. I don’t even understand how people can still defend him after this last international break

Still think he has some credit left. Needs to be given another season. We were totally abject when he came,we are competitive now but not quite there. Without a doubt, we are still a team in transition but there is a huge difference between the side MON inherited and the side we are today.
A huge amount of money was wasted on the previous managers and their signings, I don't want to see us start the process again, changing the manager would only set us back further.
Rebuilding Stoke City is not a one or two season job, it's more like a 5 year job. Recent results have been disappointing but MON has my full support, keep him for the long term and we will succeed I'm sure of it.

If we carry on at a point a game until the end of the season, we will finish roughly 17th.
Considering we haven’t averaged much above a point per game for the last 11 months (apart from the first 6 games this season) this isn’t a far fetched projection.
Is that good enough?

Is this really his fault? Struggle to see how he's coached the basic and shocking mistakes? The football played is generally a lot better than we've had before. Is game management the job of the manager? Jesus wept. He's a fraud. What would have you done Saturday then Jose? What about how he coached to get us 3-0 up? No good? Fluke? While I agree that MoN could be more proactive, Saturday was 1 million percent the players. Utter garbage being spouted from wannabees who never ever will be, with an agenda against MoN from the get go.

O’Neil was a strange appointment from the off, came with no experience for this league and other than a mini run here and there he’s totally garbage.
His individual game plan mirrors the seasons plan, Sheff United, Milwall and Cardiff were there for the taking, nett result one point, marvelous.
I can guarantee you his heads now saying defend at all costs, which is exactly what he did last season, massive problem is that he sees Chester as a starting defender.

There’s some masters of hindsight on this thread.
“Game Management”
“No Plan B”
Football manager has got a lot to answer for.
We got undone by another daft mistake from a young goalkeeper and the left back making a silly pass which played them in for the second. I fail to see what the bloke watching on the side lines can do about that? Other than to drop them again and get pelters when the replacements also fuck up.

Add to that the collective brain fart at the back for the 3rd. And I'm fairly sure he was about to bring Campbell on before they scored their first, presumably for Fletcher but still he gets pelters for not being proactive with his subs. That goal clearly made him re think for a minute or two by which time the clueless saps on the pitch had spinelessly shipped another two. But it's all MoN's fault I can see that.
