It must be a consideration though. Hopefully, we have negotiated a fee that does not penalise us under FFP. Tbh it's really simple, if we don't get the minimum we need to avoid going as a loss re FFP we don't sell him Simple but wrong. All of the costs related to Afobe are already spent or in the accounts for this season. If we were offered £1, taking it would make us better off than not doing. If we can save his salary for this season that’s a great result given where we are, any fee would be an extra boost

None other than Andy Carroll (33) is taking tests today at #clubbrugge . At the blue-black team, they check whether the attacker and former England international is physically and mentally ready. He can already be picked up on a free transfer. Looks like they're possibly pairing Benny up with Big Andy Carroll. He's in Bruges as well www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20220623_95106631Carroll is at the Belfius Basecamp today (Thursday) and will be fully screened: physically, technically, medically but also mentally. Club thinks the attacker is an opportunity, because he can be picked up on a free transfer in England. Whether it comes to an agreement depends on the tests he takes. He was offered to blue-black, and there they find it worthwhile to fully examine his situation.

Not any stranger than some of the conspiracy theories bouncing round today. I've even heard a few on here that might make good episodes on a late-night streaming service. We fooled the world that Trump and Biden are real just recently.

I think your going to have put that one down as drunken moment of misjudgement when you were emotionally vulnerable as every day that’s passes and every little improvement further exposes him as the rat he truly was but we all know sometimes it’s hard to see through the combined lens of drink and lust 'the combined lens of drink and lust' excellent. Much more eloquent than the 'ten pint queen' we used to use in my youth. Yeah but its our benj. He might have meant to type something else but just got lucky and poetry came out.

Even when he wasn’t in the plans a few season ago nobody came in for him did they? Or is this some more FFP mumbo jumbo?

They're not signing Carroll, but Afobe deal is said to be "very close" Are we due a fee Grapey? theathletic.com/live-blogs/transfer-news-premier-league-latest/tdhVblTvjOYM/Club Bruges have agreed a deal to sign Stoke striker Benik Afobe.
The Athletic reported earlier this week that Stoke had given Afobe — who had one year left on his current deal — permission to speak to two European clubs and one side in the United Arab Emirates. But the striker has opted to join the Belgium champions and will sign a two-year deal. There's been talk of one, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Ah cool... was guessing its probably on youtube, nice one. Yeah its mad how people actually thought it was real isnt it. Its kinda understandable though in a way, I think as recently as the 1950s or even 60s it was still commonly thought there could be civilisations on Mars. Even one of Patrick Moore's early books speculated on it if I remember right. I think it was the Viking mission in 1975 that finally put the lid on it

As a kid i read loads too, Robert Heinlein was my favourite... Stranger in a Strange Land is brilliant and its what that Bowie film The Man Who Fell to Earth was based on

Deal collapsed! theathletic.com/live-blogs/transfer-news-premier-league-latest/tdhVblTvjOYM/The Athletic has learnt that the deal between Stoke and Club Bruges to take Benik Afobe to the Belgian Champions has broken down. The permanent transfer which would have seen the striker sign a two year deal had all been agreed as of Friday afternoon, but is understood to have collapsed at the last minute with Afobe now heading back to the UK.
