Poor old Harry Brook. Nobody seems to have noticed that he's in the 140s at a ridiculous strike rate.

The problem is having two tests in a row at this ground. I guess there could be drama if we can whack a big lead and try to bowl then out in 4 sessions. But the pitch is doing nothing.
There is an obligation on groundstaff to create an exciting match with the wicket preparation. It is essential for test cricket to survive.

Would take some effort.

Sack the result off and let root get to 401.
Certainly plausible.

A wicket and two dropped catches inside the first three overs of Pakistan’s innings.
Are they batting on the same pitch?

Just like to say it's nice to hear the dulcet tones and knowledge of another legendary left handed batsman on comms, why SKY ditched him I'll never know !!

To them, I'm assuming? We won't get 20 2ickets all series with this attack, never mind in one test. It’s the first day 👀

Pakistan gave up yesterday afternoon and once Root was dropped this morning it was basically free runs. England's 3rd win after conceding 500 runs under McCullum, and Pakistan have done the opposite. Shows the mentality of the two outfits.......

I have a boring stat that goes to show how extraordinarily fit this England team are.
Not only did they spend all that time in the middle in relentless 35 degree heat, they scored 486 of the runs from running between the wickets. For comparison, when Sri Lanka scored 952 against India, only 388 runs came from running between the wickets. All of this was done in 150 overs, compared to, say, 258 overs for England to reach 849 in 1930.

Rubbish England. To only take 19 wickets with this bowling attack is nothing short of embarrassing!😉

Great win in the end. Most teams after conceding 550 in the first innings would just have batted out for a draw.

These past few days remind me why I always put England Cricket above the rest of our national teams. Absolutely buzzing, what a performance.

Who's Stokes coming back in for then? If he is... It will be for Carse unless they risk 1 front line spinner. Carse doesn’t deserve to lose his place. Perhaps it should be for Pope.

I said a few weeks ago it was odd to give Pope the captaincy when he's the one batsman at the minute I'm unsure about.
I could see Bashir getting dropped and asking Root to offer up more overs, which isn't ideal.
