Something weird going on… Our red ball and white ball team have switched places! Haha I was thinking the same! Plenty of time. To be fair our recent T20 record has been pretty patchy

The sooner this white ball bollocks is over the better. Can’t believe it’s another 6 weeks to wait until we get more Baz ball.

100-6
That's the game over if it wasn't before...

100-6 That's the game over if it wasn't before... A miserable performance from England. It happens in T20 cricket. But… There are some real concerns about this team particularly in the seam bowling where a mixture of retirement, injury and form means we haven’t yet found our best line up. And in batting Malan and Roy have been struggling for a while. So, with Morgan now retired we also have some questions about our best batting line up too. Nothing that we shouldn’t be able to resolve, but you get the feeling we have work to do if we are to continue being the best white ball team in the world.

Feels like time to freshen things up now that Buttler is in charge. The likes of Smeeth, Hain and Kohler-Cadmore look good with the bat, Ollie Stone can't cope with the rigours of test match cricket but looks really good in T20 cricket. I'm a bit bored of Malan, Willey, Topley, Mills and Jordan if I'm honest although Jordan bowled really well, but I'm sure we'll come good for the next game hopefully just a bad day at the office.......

Let’s not forget too we were pretty short in terms of YJB, Stokes etc. wood injured, no Rashid. Half a second string really, but take nothing away from those crafty Indian swing bowlers. They were superb

They were superb Their bowling in the opening overs was as good a spell of white ball seaming I’ve seen in a long time. You can see the huge benefit IPL brings to their national side. It gives them quality in depth in all bowling disciplines. We are going to need to be at the top of our game to beat them and not rely on a miracle Buttler knock to see us through.

I agree. The team needs a refresh. We mustn’t fall into the trap of picking the same old faces when new faces have done enough to earn a shot.

Brook played some nice shots in the circumstances but was on a hiding to nothing really. I think as you say one too many bowlers and bowlers who’ve probably been there a little too long. Although I do think Willey gets some shabby treatment, he swings it and gets too order wickets. Don’t really understand why he wasn’t in the side again🤔

It seems he was released from the squad to play for Yorkshire v Surrey last night (which was a cracking game btw). Why him and not Brooks or Curran or Malan or Roy I have no idea. Likewise, I don’t know if he will return to the squad for the weekends games.

Tom Banton and Rilee Roussow unleashing hellfire for Somerset vs Derbyshire. Like the look of the young Derbyshire quick Scrimshaw though

265/5 the highest ever score in T20 Blast history. 22 4’s and 18 6’s. Outrageous And Scrimshaw had very respectable figures of 4 overs for 16!

Is you take Scrimshaw’s 2-16 off the total they hit 249 runs from 16 overs which is frightening, shows what a good bowling performance it was too……

I would bring Salt in for the final game I would bring Salt in for the next game as well, but in place of Parkinson. We look as though we are a batsman short.

He’s definitely a peaks and troughs player Cobs, right now he’s snuffling around for form. I would bring Salt in for the final game I would bring Salt in for the next game as well, but in place of Parkinson. We look as though we are a batsman short. We are definitely a batsman short. But that’s not really where the problem is… our bowlers look way below the level of India’s seamers and spinners. The Morgan white ball revolution was always really about batting; that we unlocked the capabilities of our batsmen to go all out attack. We don’t care what our opponents score; we will score more. And that has worked big time. It’s also masked a major weakness with the ball. With Archer out of contention, we only have one top class white ball bowler - Rashid. You can see this in terms of Englishmen who play in the IPL - it’s batsmen, or all rounders principally picked for what they can do with the bat. Our bowling attack is actually one of the weakest in international cricket. It’s something that needs some attention, which I hope is the lesson emerging from this series. Meaning we don’t need all rounders down to #11, but we do need three bona fide top quality bowlers and not worry if they don’t know which end of the bat to hold.

2 England T20's in a row where I've checked out long before its conclusion. I don't know if it's unusual or not but I find it a bore fest compared to Test Match Cricket.

Looked well set at one point with Malan and Livingstone in full flow but lost wickets at crucial times.
215-7 to chase. Seems about par..
