Hopefully the rain stays away for the rest of this game. Good to see Pant back. This is his car after the crash. Hadn't seen any details before but frightening. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/64124242

Hadn't seen any details before but frightening. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/64124242He’s the most gifted Indian batsman for me. Doesn’t matter what the conditions are or what the game situation is he just comes out and twats the ball to all parts. Seems to take himself a lot less seriously than some of his teammates.

That was quite the choke from Pakistan, their batting really is dreadful.

It's almost like they forgot they only had 20 overs to bat.

I don't know if the stats are available yet but it looks like England will have to go some to finish ahead of Scotland. In cases where rain reduces the number of overs is this better or worse for England or does it make no difference?

England basically already out unless there’s some rapid run chases

England just have to better Scotlands remaining results. Thrashing Oman will help

In cases where rain reduces the number of overs is this better or worse for England or does it make no difference? I'm not an expert on net run rate but I would think rain would not be good for us as we need to win by as large a margin as possible. If we have a situation where a match is reduced to say 5 overs a side, that would make things awkward I would think.

We have to bat first against Oman and Namibia and post a couple of monster scores to boost our run rate (and win the games obviously). Then cross our fingers around the weather.
To be honest from what I've seen from one and a bit games so far we're not worthy of a place in the last 8 but fingers crossed we get there and kick on.....

Ludicrous decision to bowl Will Jacks' lollipop off spin will massively cost us. Butler really is a poor captain.

Topley and Curran have to come in for Wood and Jordan don’t they? Can’t really change a lot with the batting, maybe bring in Duckett for the hopelessly out of form Brook?

Whatever happens in this tournament, it is becoming clear that we have reached the end of an era with our white ball side. It's time to say goodbye to most of the heroes of 2019. I think Bairstow, Moeen, Rashid and Wood have all reached the end of the road (although I would still pick Wood for Test Cricket). I would keep Buttler but not as captain. Archer still has a future if he can stay fit but probably not in red ball cricket. If we fail to get out of the group then Mott should also go as coach. I would look to bring in Eoin Morgan to replace him.

Better not take any chances - just keep everyone nice and dry in the pavilion to avoid any slips or nasty falls. Safety first and it is just a game after all.

Australia’s Hazelwood has said that they will do their best to ensure Scotland’s run rate is good enough to eliminate us. We’re going to have to absolutely hammer Namibia and Oman.

Hazelwood said the quiet bit out loud. I fully understand the thinking behind it however deliberately throwing games or manipulating run rates is surely a punishable offence?

It's unusual for NZ, they normally do well at World Cups without actually winning one. By all accounts their preparation for this event was awful.
