It could be made legal.
An absolutely terrible idea imo that will just lead to dickheads throwing it everywhere and people getting drenched.

There’s just no point. Everybody’s used to not drinking. If your gasping for a beer that much there’s something wrong

I’m not against it if people act civilised, but you can guarantee it’ll be spoilt by a small minority of selfish pricks.

People can surprise you at times if you treat them with respect and put them on trust.
I thought those self serve supermarket checkouts would see folks only scanning every other item
NOTE There will always be a few people abusing the trust.

It is allowed in Rugby League stadia and I can testify it’s a complete pain in the proverbial. People are constantly up and down either to buy beer or go for a slash - I like a pint but it really should be possible to exist for 90 mins without one and actually just enjoy the game.

Whilst I wouldn't mind a drink, I'm against it for this reason. Plus the quality served is piss poor anyway.

It works in other countries.
Sadly don't see it working here.

It would make the concourses more covid safe. Once you've bought your drink go to your seat. I believe in trusting people. If a particular area persists in misbehaviour withdraw the privelege. Shut the bars once the match kicks off.

I love a drink on match day but I have never had one in a ground. I use the two hours at the match as a bit of respite before I go back to the pub. Why would I pay extortionate prices for something that has been poured during the first half. Then you have the dickheads who just want to throw it in the air, they should be thrown straight out. Can you imagine letting them loose in the stands, it would soon turn very nasty.

The only slight saving grace is they would all be dispersed out into individual seats so wouldn’t be anywhere near as hard (and stupid) as they are when there’s 50 of them congregated in a concourse thinking it’s ok to give everyone else a beer shower whether they wanted one of not. Give it a go. If it doesn’t work stop it. It’s not difficult. Anyway a half pint of flat piss water wouldn’t be as hard as a stale meat pie hitting you in the eye would it Bayern?

I really dislike the idea! Of course there will be individuals who will make this an excuse to make people around them soaking wet, but also a lot of people who spontaniously will celebrate a goal with beer flying everywhere! I really hope they will think twice about this stupid idea!

You only had to be at Derby last weekend to see some of our so-called supporters chucking beer everywhere in the concourse to see what would happen in the ground.

Like I said above mate not so sure that it would happen the same in the stands as they won’t all be huddled together in their hard little group. Individuals lobbing beer around in the stands are much more likely to be lamped.

Perhaps they should have a designated Neanderthal block at each ground, they could serve them coloured water or sewage and charge them the same price. As they don’t drink it, it wouldn’t matter. Half wits

Plus everyone around will know the seat number and be able to report it, they have cameras all over the stadia so wouldn't be hard to find it, make sure they know that it's a banning offence and they'll soon think twice.

You can't take part in a goal celebration mental and hold a full pint at the same time. People will get wet.

Surprised at the reaction here, I must be in the minority but I'll be happy to watch the game with a beer, it's what I'd usually do watching a game in the pub and I can't recall ever launching my pint in the air.
Not everyone is a hooligan, lighten up chaps.

They aren’t hooligans they are stupid little kids, hooligans wouldn’t put up with beer being thrown over their designer gear, the beer throwing would soon stop.

I seldom buy a beer in the ground, but I might well do if I could take it to my seat to drink slowly. The aspect that worries me is people constantly going in and out to fetch another pint.
