Even if he was shit, Doughty is next in line or ahead so still 6. It definitely wasn't a second string we put out tonight. I really don't understand why you would essentially want us to put out a fully weakened side to get knocked out the competition. Focus on the bread and butter? Give players opportunities? And tbh I treat the League Cup as a development thing. I think it should be abolished as it is ultimately.

He isn't but there's an argument he should be? Neither him or Allen ideal. Duhaney isn't but Surridge this season could be considered that he is? And then there's people that can't wait to stick the boot into Bursik too. We've got a good squad I guess but at the minute I wouldn't call that side tonight second string. I think given that most won’t play when everyone is fit says otherwise. Bursik is going to / should continue to improve but Davies is, in my opinion the better option at present. Davies easily our best keeper and should play for me

Was cleaning the little lads bottles when clucas made it two one and dropped the fucking lot having a mental in the kitchen! Needless to say it was well worth getting out the Milton and doing them again, get in Stoke you've made my fucking night. “Getting out the Milton” sounds like a euphemism. I wish mate😁

We have to stick with Bursik. I get the whole develop the young keeper, don’t damage his condfidence, give him a reason to stay etc. But Davies is the better player for me, and you should play your strongest team where possible

Another bad game and yeah start to look at it. But you can't do it after one bad game because we have a fanbase that can't hack having young players in the side.

Players were give opportunities tonight. I find that view really odd, especially given it's our only major trophy won in our history. Your view is exactly why both this and FA Cup are being swept aside and traditions forgotten.

shockingly biased write-up on the BBC website, we dont get any credit for the way we played at all
Late goals from Sam Clucas and Josh Tymon gave Championship side Stoke City a surprise win over a wasteful Watford in the Carabao Cup third round.
Clucas scored with a low, deflected shot from 25 yards before Tymon's mis-hit cross looped over Rob Elliot.
WTF??

Disagree about the FA Cup. It’s still massive thing. The League Cup just has nothing to it does it? What’s the point of it? It’s only relevance in this day and age is to give younger a players a starting point. But not even that’s guaranteed.

It absolutely isn’t an age thing. It’s also not one bad game. It is one bad game. He’s not done much else all season good or bad. His long range/clearance kicking has been terrible all season I’d be the last to drop and knock a youngster off the back of one shambles but Davies gave the perfect shout out tonight as to it possibly being justified. Ultimately, the best headache you want for your manager to have.

And…. Who cares??! It was a mint touch to either hit in across into the mixer for our forwards but that keep was fairly exposed, he scored. Just Try and enjoy it Bayern! I just find it funny how one eyed it is it matter not one jot but I'm just dumbfounded anyone can think that, it's hilarious. Hilarious really? I think you need to get out more Bayern

I thought the youngsters did a Stirling job with Don Bradman commanding his wicket, nice to see the players with their stockings up with none of this silly Tony Grealish fashionistas !

It used to be a competition where full strength teams were always put out. Even the general promotion of it is lacking. What's happening to the FA Cup is what has happened to the League Cup which I agree it is judged like there no point, which is totally the wrong view. In my opinion I would have the winners of League Cup and FA Cup in a final match together for a Champions League spot instead of 4th Place.

It’s been less exciting recently because Man City are just too dominant. It doesn’t make it less important to the players who I’m sure would run through walls to get a chance to play at Wembley.

Impressed with Simas cameo off the bench, and Sawyers also. Doughty once again showed why we need to find a place for him somewhere in the starting 11.
